Shear thickening and dynamic glass transition of concentrated suspensions. State of the problem

A. Ya. Malkin、В. Г. Куличихин2016-01-01Colloid Journal

Contemporary interpretation of shear thickening and deformation (dynamic) glass transition phenomena in concentrated suspensions has been considered. The concentration limits that predetermine structuring resulting from volume effects, which control percolation and the randomly limiting volume filling, have been formu…

Energy-conserving coarse-graining of complex molecules

Pep Español、Mar Serrano、Ignacio Pagonabarraga 等 4 位作者2016-01-01Soft Matter

Coarse-graining (CG) of complex molecules is a method to reach time scales that would be impossible to access through brute force molecular simulations. In this paper, we formulate a coarse-grained model for complex molecules using first principles caculations that ensures energy conservation. Each molecule is describ…

Non-symmetric benzo[b]-fused BODIPYs as a versatile fluorophore platform reaching the NIR: a systematic study of the underlying structure–property relationship

André Bessette、Thomas Auvray、Denis Désilets 等 4 位作者2016-01-01Dalton Transactions

Ten newly synthesized non-symmetric benzo[b]-fused BODIPYs are compared with an extended series of nine related families (23 compounds) to gain insights into their structure-property relationship. The insertion of a fused indole moiety into the dipyrromethene core and various substituents on the proximal aryl includin…

A Comparative Study on White Layer Properties by Laser Cutting vs. Electrical Discharge Machining of Nitinol Shape Memory Alloy

C.H. Fu、J.F. Liu、Y. B. Guo 等 4 位作者2016-01-01Procedia CIRP

Nitinol shape memory alloys (SMA) are widely used in biomedical and aerospace applications because of its outstanding properties such as superelasticity, shape memory, and biocompatibility. Conventional mechanical cutting of Nitinol is very challenging due to rapid tool wear and large burr formation. Laser cutting and…

A transfer-free wafer-scale CVD graphene fabrication process for MEMS/NEMS sensors

Sten Vollebregt、Brigida Alfano、Filiberto Ricciardella 等 8 位作者2016-01-01OpenAlex

In this paper we report a novel transfer-free graphene fabrication process, which does not damage the graphene layer. Uniform graphene layers on 4" silicon wafers were deposited by chemical vapor deposition using the CMOS compatible Mo catalyst. Removal of the Mo layer after graphene deposition results in a transfer-f…

Performance of field-effect transistors based on Nb x W 1−x S 2 monolayers

Liping Feng、Wanzhen Jiang、Jie Su 等 5 位作者2016-01-01Nanoscale

The Schottky barrier has been detected in many field-effect transistors (FETs) based on transition metal dichalcogenide (TMD) semiconductors and has seriously affected the electronic properties of the devices. In order to decrease the Schottky barrier in WS2 FETs, novel Nb doping in WS2 monolayers has been performed a…

Biocompatible nanoparticles of gadolinium-incorporated Prussian blue with the empirical formula K(0.94)Gd(0.02)Fe[Fe(CN)6] exhibit extremely high stability against the release of Gd(3+) and CN(-) ions under the acidic conditions similar to stomach juice. The high r1 relaxivity, low cytotoxicity and the ability of such…
