Y. M. Shen、L. Pang、Y. Fainman 等 7 位作者2007-04-08arXiv

Emission from single CdSe nanocrystals in PMMA was investigated. A fraction of the nanocrystals exhibiting switching between two energy states, which have similar total intensities, but distinctly different spectra were observed. We found that the spectral shift characteristic frequency increases with the pump power.…

Edmund Golis、J. Filipecki2007-04-07Proceedings of SPIE, the International Society for Optical Engineering/Proceedings of SPIE

Amorphous glassy materials are of great interest on account of their possible application in optical electronics and glass fiber techniques. In this article lead-bismuth-gallium oxide glasses has been investigated. These materials are characterized by the great value of refractive index and because of absence of param…

Effect of Orientational Specificity of Complexation on the Behavior of Supramolecular Polymers: Theory and Simulation

Matthew C. Hagy、Chun-Chung Chen、Elena E. Dormidontova2007-04-07Macromolecules

Using Monte Carlo simulations we study the association of flexible oligomers terminated by a donor and an acceptor group capable of orientationally specific reversible bonding. On the basis of simulation results, we have obtained equilibrium constants for chain growth and ring closure. These constants were employed in…

Preparation of Size-Controlled, Highly Populated, Stable, and Nearly Monodispersed Ag Nanoparticles in an Organic Medium from a Simple Interfacial Redox Process Using a Conducting Polymer

Arnab Dawn、Pratap Mukherjee、Arun K. Nandi2007-04-07Langmuir

The reducing property of an organically soluble conducting polymer (poly(o-methoxyaniline), POMA) is used to prepare monodisperse, size-controlled, highly populated, and highly stable silver nanoparticles in an organic medium through an interfacial redox process with an aqueous AgNO3 solution. The transition of emeral…

We prepared water dispersions of poly(n-butyl methacrylate-st-butyl acrylate) crosslinked core-shell nanoparticles functionalized with different amounts of trimethoxisilane (TMS) groups in the outer shell. The purpose of the TMS groups is to chemically bind the rubbery particles to a nanostructured silica network, usi…

Lamellar Structure in Poly(Ala-Gly) Determined by Solid-State NMR and Statistical Mechanical Calculations

Tetsuo Asakura、Hirohiko Sato、Fumika Moro 等 5 位作者2007-04-07Journal of the American Chemical Society

Lamellar structure of poly(Ala-Gly) or (AG)n in the solid was examined using 13C solid-state NMR and statistical mechanical approaches. Two doubly labeled versions, [1-13C]Gly14[1-13C]Ala15- and [1-13C]Gly18[1-13C]Ala19 of (AG)15 were examined by two-dimensional (2D) 13C spin diffusion NMR in the solid state. In addit…

I-Im S. Lim、Christopher A. Vaiana、Zhi‐Yang Zhang 等 6 位作者2007-04-07Journal of the American Chemical Society

X-shaped rigid methylthio arylethynes (MTA) have been demonstrated to mediate the assembly of gold nanoparticles. The structural attributes of MTAs include molecular rigidity, π-conjugation, and importantly the tunability in terms of size, shape, and binding strength. The size, kinetics, optical, and spectroscopic pro…
