The Effect of Degree of Saturation of Sand on Detonation Phenomena Associated with Shallow‐Buried and Ground‐Laid Mines

M. Grujičić、B. Pandurangan、B. A. Cheeseman2005-09-15Shock and Vibration

A new materials model for sand has been developed in order to include the effects of the degree of saturation and the deformation rate on the constitutive response of this material. The model is an extension of the original compaction materials model for sand in which these effects were neglected. The new materials mo…

Verification of a model for the piezoelectric d33 coefficient of cellular electret films

J. Hillenbrand、G. M. Sessler、Xiaoqing Zhang2005-09-15Journal of Applied Physics

An existing model for the piezoelectric thickness coefficient (d33 coefficient) of cellular polymers is tested with experimental data obtained from two differently manufactured cellular polypropylene (PP) materials. The model assumes the cellular film to consist of plane parallel solid and gaseous layers charged at th…

A combinatorial phage display method was applied to films composed of a stereoregular polymer of methacrylates. The phage clones with selective affinity for isotactic (it) poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) were isolated. Greater amounts of the phage clones bound to it-PMMA, compared to other stereoregular PMMAs. The ph…

Fast localized orthonormal virtual orbitals which depend smoothly on nuclear coordinates

Joseph E. Subotnik、Anthony D. Dutoi、Martin Head‐Gordon2005-09-15The Journal of Chemical Physics

We present here an algorithm for computing stable, well-defined localized orthonormal virtual orbitals which depend smoothly on nuclear coordinates. The algorithm is very fast, limited only by diagonalization of two matrices with dimension the size of the number of virtual orbitals. Furthermore, we require no more tha…
