Single crystals of molybdenum-incorporated tris(thiourea)zinc(II) sulfate (MoZTS) are grown by the slow evaporation solution growth technique. Crystal composition as determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis reveals that it belongs to the orthorhombic system with space group Pca21 and cell parameters a =…

Aperiodic composite crystals present long-range order without translational symmetry. These materials may be described as the intersection in three dimensions of a crystal which is periodic in a higher-dimensional space. In such materials, symmetry breaking must be described as structural changes within these crystall…

Suppression of martensitic transformation in Fe50Mn23Ga27 by local symmetry breaking

Tianyu Ma、Xiaolian Liu、Mi Yan 等 9 位作者2015-05-25Applied Physics Letters

Defects-induced local symmetry breaking has led to unusual properties in nonferromagnetic ferroelastic materials upon suppressing their martensitic transformation. Thus, it is of interest to discover additional properties by local symmetry breaking in one important class of the ferroelastic materials, i.e., the ferrom…

Mycogenic Silver Nanoparticle Biosynthesis And Its Pesticide Degradation Potentials

Alak Chandra Deka、Swapan Kumar Sinha2015-05-25International Journal of Technology Enhancements and Emerging Engineering Research

Chemical pesticides are resistant to biodegradation beside carcinogenic in nature even at trace levels. Effort to remove pesticide by conventional methods has several inherent disadvantages of longer time or cost and this bottleneck can be avoided by utilizing nanoparticles as it can mineralise at a faster rate. Nanop…

Haibin Sun、Jun Wu、Jiejun Zhu 等 6 位作者2015-05-25Applied Physics Letters

We have prepared graphene-veiled-nanoparticle hybrids by depositing a bilayer graphene film on silver nanoparticles with large particle sizes, ∼200 nm. The hybrids possess good thermal stability and exhibit great surface-enhanced Raman scattering with enhancement factors of 49- and 21-fold for the G and 2D peaks, resp…

Gate-tunable superconducting weak link behavior in top-gated LaAlO3-SrTiO3

V. V. Bal、Manan Mehta、Sangwoo Ryu 等 7 位作者2015-05-25Applied Physics Letters

We use a combination of global back-gating and local top-gating to define nanoscale devices in the two-dimensional electron gas at the LaAlO3-SrTiO3 interface, demonstrating an efficient way for much finer spatial control over the properties of the interface, as compared to back-gating alone. The devices show indicati…

We report a method for accelerated nanoscale nuclear magnetic resonance imaging by detecting several signals in parallel. Our technique relies on phase multiplexing, where the signals from different nuclear spin ensembles are encoded in the phase of an ultrasensitive magnetic detector. We demonstrate this technique by…
