Photochromic Rewritable Memory Media: A New Nondestructive Readout Method

Fumio Tatezono、Toshio Harada、Yoshiaki Shimizu 等 5 位作者1993-09-01Japanese Journal of Applied Physics

A new nondestructive readout method was proposed for photochromic rewritable memory media. When the medium has a thermal threshold in the writing process with a λ 1 laser, reading using two lasers having emission lines at λ 1 and λ 2 , which correspond to absorption bands of the two isomers, makes it possible to keep…

Novel Preparation, Characterization and Catalytic Properties of Polymer-Protected Cu/Pd Bimetallic Colloid

Naoki Toshima、Yuan Wang1993-09-01Chemistry Letters

Abstract Polymer-protected Cu/Pd bimetallic colloids with different atomic ratio of Cu to Pd were successfully prepared by refluxing a glycol solution of hydroxide of copper and palladium in the presence of poly(N-vinyl-2-pyrrolidone). The TEM, XRD, AAS and UV-vis spectrum measurements indicate the formation of bimeta…

Pore Narrowing and Formation of Ultrathin Yttria‐Stabilized Zirconia Layers in Ceramic Membranes by Chemical Vapor Deposition/Electrochemical Vapor Deposition

Guozhong Cao、H.W. Brinkman、J. Meijerink 等 5 位作者1993-09-01Journal of the American Ceramic Society

Chemical vapor deposition (CVD) and electrochemical vapor deposition (EVD) have been applied to deposit yttria‐stabilized‐zirconia (YSZ) on porous ceramic media. The experimental results indicate that the location of YSZ deposition can be varied from the surface of the substrates to the inside of the substrates by cha…

Preferential paths in alkali ion migration and the mixed alkali effect in silicate glasses

Sundaram Balasubramanian、K. J. Rao1993-09-01The Journal of Physical Chemistry

The mixed alkali effect (MAE) in glasses has been investigated using molecular dynamics simulation. It has been established using Van Hove type correlation functions that alkali ions exhibit site preferences during migration. The occurrence of conductivity minimum has been demonstrated, and reasons for suppression of…

Dendrimere Polyamine

Rolf Moors、Fritz Vögtle1993-09-01Chemische Berichte

Dendrimeric Polyamines The dendritic amines 2, 3, 4 and the imine 6 are synthesized by a divergent strategy. The formerly problematic reduction of polynitriles is achieved by the use of diisobutylaluminium hydride in high yield. The functional imine dendrimer 6 is converted into its tricobalt complex 7 .

Eliana Aparecida de Rezende Duek、Marco‐A. De Paoli、Marina Mastragostino1993-09-01Advanced Materials

Advantages of solid‐state electrochemical devices are the ease of production, no possibility of leakage, and no electrolyte evaporation. One result of the search for such a device is the electrochromic display sketched in the Figure, which uses polyaniline and Prussian Blue as the active electrochromic materials and a…

SYNTHESIS AND CHARACTERIZATION OF A MULTIBRIDGED PORPHYRIN COMPLEX CONTAINING PERIPHERAL BIS(BIPYRIDINE)-RUTHENIUM(II) GROUPS

Koiti Araki、Henrique E. Toma1993-09-01Journal of Coordination Chemistry

The synthesis and characterization of a new meso-tetrapyridylporphyrin (TPyP) modified with four [Ru(bipy)2Cl]+ groups is reported. Cyclic voltammograms of this species in N,N′-dimethylformamide exhibit three reversible waves at 0.92, −0.68 and −0.93 V versus SHE, ascribed to the ruthenium(III/II) redox couple, and to…

Engineering oxide–oxide and metal–oxide microstructures in directionally solidified eutectics

A. Revcolevschi、G. Dhalenne1993-09-01Advanced Materials

Very regularly aligned composite structures made of the two phases of a eutectic can be fabricated by unidirectional solidification of eutectics from the melt. A recent innovation is the use of chemical reactions taking place at the eutectic interface to produce new aligned composite materials. An example of this can…

Brian R. Lawn、Nitin P. Padture、Linda M. Braun 等 4 位作者1993-09-01Journal of the American Ceramic Society

A fracture mechanics model is presented for the toughening of ceramics by bridging from second‐phase particles, resulting in toughness curve ( T ‐curve) behavior. It is assumed that the second‐phase particles are in a state of residual thermal expansion dilatational mismatch relative to the matrix. In the long‐crack r…
