G. R. Hamed、Yupaporn Ruksakulpiwat2003-12-10Journal of Applied Polymer Science

Abstract A typical resorcinol/formaldehyde/latex (RFL) adhesive and two modified versions were used to bond a tire body stock (NR/SBR/BR blend) to polyethylene terephthalate (PET) cord. Modifications contained a commercial chlorophenol/resorcinol condensate or a lab‐prepared chlororesorcinol/resorcinol condensate (CRA…

Liquid Crystalline Hydrogels: Mesomorphic Behavior of Amphiphilic Polyacrylates Bearing Cholesterol Mesogen

Tatsuo Kaneko、Hiroki Nagasawa、Jian Ping Gong 等 4 位作者2003-12-10Macromolecules

Copolymers composed of 5-acryloyloxypentyl cholesterate (Ch5A) and acrylic acid (AA), poly(Ch5A- co -AA)s, were prepared changing their molar ratio, and their mesomorphic behaviors were investigated. Wide- and small-angle X-ray diffraction studies showed that poly(Ch5A- co -AA)s with a Ch5A mole fraction, F, of 0.20 a…

The Excitation Processes of Sensitized Luminescence in YAl3(BO3)4:Eu3+, Gd3+Phosphors

Nobuyuki Yokosawa、Eiichiro Nakazawa2003-12-10Japanese Journal of Applied Physics

The photoluminescence of YAl 3 (BO 3 ) 4 :Eu 3+ phosphor is sensitized by the codoping of Gd 3+ ions under ultraviolet excitation from 130 nm to 160 nm. The Gd 3+ ions sensitize the emission of Eu 3+ ions by a two-step energy transfer from the host to Gd 3+ and then to Eu 3+ ions.

We study the phonon dynamics of ${\mathrm{MgTi}}_{2}{\mathrm{O}}_{4}$ spinel by measuring the Raman and infrared reflectivity spectra in a wide frequency $(100--3000{\mathrm{cm}}^{\ensuremath{-}1})$ and temperature (10 K--300 K) range. The reflectivity spectra are analyzed by a fitting procedure based on a model which…

Anomalous diffusion is the rule in concentration-dependent diffusion processes

Michel Küntz、Paul Lavallée2003-12-10Journal of Physics D Applied Physics

In this note, we re-examine one-dimensional diffusion experiments of high concentration aqueous CuSO 4 into deionized water carried out by Carey A E et al (1995 Water Resources Res. 31 2213–18). We show that spreading of concentrated CuSO 4 fronts does not conform to the t 1/2 relation expected from Fick's hypothesis…

Structure formation, melting, and optical properties of gold/DNA nanocomposites: Effects of relaxation time

Sung Yong Park、D. Stroud2003-12-10Physical review. B, Condensed matter

We present a model for structure formation, melting, and optical properties of gold/DNA nanocomposites. These composites consist of a collection of gold nanoparticles (of radius 50 nm or less) which are bound together by links made up of DNA strands. In our structural model, the nanocomposite forms from a series of Mo…

A three-dimensional network model describing a non-linear composite material

Eva Mårtensson、U. Gäfvert2003-12-10Journal of Physics D Applied Physics

A three-dimensional network model for performing non-linear time-dependent simulations of the electrical characteristics related to a composite material is presented. The considered compounds are represented by a cubic lattice and consist of conducting particles distributed in an insulating matrix. Earlier studies of…

Song Jiao-Hua、Mingyan Sun、Qing Chen 等 6 位作者2003-12-10Journal of Physics D Applied Physics

Arrays of multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) were fabricated by pyrolysis of iron phthalocyanine (FePc). A silicon wafer and a stainless steel plate were used as the substrates. MWCNTs grown on the silicon wafer were packed closely to each other and were thus well aligned, while those grown on the stainless steel…
