Mechanistic investigation of the gold-catalyzed aerobic oxidation of aldehydes: added insight from Hammett studies and isotopic labelling experiments

Peter Fristrup、Louise Bahn Johansen、Claus H. Christensen2008-01-01Chemical Communications

The gold-catalyzed aerobic oxidation of aldehydes proceeds through development of a partial negative charge and has a significant kinetic isotope effect (kH/kD = 2.8-2.9), which illustrates that activation of the C-H bond takes place in the rate-determining step.

Cobalt-catalyzed hydrogen desorption from the LiNH2–LiBH4 system

Wan Si Tang、Guotao Wu、Tao Liu 等 8 位作者2008-01-01Dalton Transactions

A doping of 5 wt% CoCl2 considerably decreases the dehydrogenation temperature of a mixture of LiNH2 and LiBH4. More that 8 wt% of hydrogen can be released at ca. 155 degrees C. X-Ray absorption near edge structure (XANES) spectroscopy indicated the formation of metallic Co after ball milling CoCl2 with LiNH2 and LiBH…

Tohru Sugahara、Michitaka Ohtaki、Takeshi Souma2008-01-01Journal of the Ceramic Society of Japan

Doping effects for the A-site in double-perovskite type oxide Sr2-xMxFeMoO6 (M = Ba, La) are investigated on the thermoelectric properties of the oxides. The Seebeck coefficient, S, shows that all the samples of both Ba- and La-doped Sr2FeMoO6 systems are n-type over the measured temperature range. In particular, the…

An in situ method of investigating the kinetics and mechanisms of oxygen surface exchange on (LSM) and (LSCF) was developed by combining temperature programmed desorption, reaction, and isothermal switching with an isotopic tracer, . The gas exchange behavior is separated into surface- and bulk-originated oxygen and c…

Transformation kinetics of monohydrocalcite to aragonite in aqueous solutions

Takashi Munemoto、Keisuke Fukushi2008-01-01Journal of Mineralogical and Petrological Sciences

Monohydrocalcite (CaCO3·H2O; MHC) is a rare mineral in geological settings. It is metastable with respect to calcite and aragonite. This metastability of MHC is considered to make it a rare mineral in geological settings. Alteration experiments of MHC in aqueous solutions in a closed system were conducted at temperatu…

Stefan Meuer、Lydia Braun、Rudolf Zentel2008-01-01Chemical Communications

alpha-Pyrene functionalised poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) chains were synthesised by RAFT polymerisation and found to be highly efficient to solubilise and disentangle multi walled carbon nanotubes that can now self-organise as liquid crystalline phases in PMMA and PEG 400 matrices.

Dislocation Bow-Out Model for Yield Stress of Ultra-Fine Grained Materials

Masaharu Kato、Toshiyuki Fujii、Susumu Onaka2008-01-01MATERIALS TRANSACTIONS

A dislocation bow-out model has been developed to explain the strength of ultra-fine grained (UFG) materials with grain size roughly between 20 nm to 500 nm. In the model, perfect dislocations are assumed to be nucleated at grain-boundary sources and bow out between two pinning points on a boundary. Yielding is consid…
