Size effect on the dielectric properties of BaTiO3

Weilie Zhong、Peilin Zhang、Yuguo Wang 等 4 位作者1994-10-01Ferroelectrics

BaTiO3 ultrafine particles of different size were prepared by Sol-Gel process. Their microstructure was examined at room temperature. The temperature dependence of the dielectric properties of the pressed pellets and fired ceramics of these particles was studied. With the decrease of particle size d, the Curie tempera…

Kōhei Oda、Takayuki Takahashi、Yoshiyuki Tokuda 等 5 位作者1994-10-01Journal of Biological Chemistry

A unique carboxyl proteinase (EC 3.4.23.33), insensitive to the classical inhibitor isovaleryl pepstatin and isolated from Pseudomonas sp. 101 (PCP), is the first example of a prokaryotic enzyme of this class. The gene coding for PCP was cloned, sequenced, and expressed in Escherichia coli. The gene consists of 1,761…

Interfacial bonding, wettability and reactivity in metal/oxide systems

N. Eustathopoulos、B. Drevet1994-10-01Journal de Physique III

Pure non-reactive metals develop weak interactions with iono-covalent oxides (insulators) which can be both physical (van der Waals) and chemical (low density interfacial electronic states). As a result, non-wetting is generally observed, the contact angle being larger than 90 degrees. Improvement of wetting can be ob…

V. Venkataramanan、M. R. Srinivasan、H. L. Bhat1994-10-01Journal of Raman Spectroscopy

Abstract Vibrational spectra of zinc tris(thiourea) sulphate (ZTS), a new semiorganic non‐linear optical crystal, were recorded to determine the symmetries of molecular vibrations. The observed Raman and infrared bands are assigned to molecular vibrations of thiourea, sulphate groups and Zn(thiourea) 3 SO 4 tetrahedra…

Transmission Electron Microscope Sample Preparation Using a Focused Ion Beam

T. Ishitani、Hideki Tsuboi、Toshie Yaguchi 等 4 位作者1994-10-01Journal of Electron Microscopy

A focused ion beam (FIB) has been applied for transmission electron microscope (TEM) sample preparation. The sample tilt method is demonstrated to correct the cross-sectional taper shape of the TEM sample. The origin of the taper is discussed using the time-dependent surface development under the FIB trench milling. A…

A new series of chiral homologous thiobenzoates with non-chiral end chains ranging from heptyloxy to octadecyloxy has been synthesized and characterized. The mesomorphic properties have been analysed by optical microscopy on pure compounds and mixtures, DSC, and electro-optical and pitch measurements. They display a v…

Thermoreversible reaction of diels—alder polymer composed of difurufuryladipate with bismaleimidodiphenylmethane

Noriyuki Kuramoto、Keiji Hayashi、Katsutoshi Nagai1994-10-01Journal of Polymer Science Part A Polymer Chemistry

Abstract Thermoreversible reaction of Diels‐Alder polymer composed of difurufuryladipate with bismaleimidodiphenylmethane was studied in dimethylformamide solution. The retro‐Diels‐Alder degradation occurred gradually at 90°C and Diels–Alder polymerization proceeded quickly at 60°C. © 1994 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.

Objective Hand Measurement of Nonwoven Fabrics

Sueo Kawabata、Masako Niwa、Fumei Wang1994-10-01Textile Research Journal

Fabric hand evaluation, previously applied to men's suiting, is used here to assess the touch or feel of nonwoven fabrics. In this method, fabric mechanical property parameters are converted by a first conversion equation (equation type I ) to numbers (the hand value or Hv) that express three primary hand values (the…

Fabrication of Oriented SiC‐Whisker‐Reinforced Mullite Matrix Composites by Tape Casting

Mianxue Wu、Gary L. Messing1994-10-01Journal of the American Ceramic Society

Dense SiC‐whisker‐reinforced mullite composites with up to 50 vol% whiskers can be obtained by tape casting and hot pressing. The tape casting process results in high degrees of SiC whisker orientation as determined visually and by X‐ray diffraction. The ability to achieve dense composites with as much as 50 vol % whi…

In summary, the compounds reported here demonstrate that it is possible to design chromophores that simultaneously exhibit large nonlinearity and good thermal stability. Furthermore, with the synthesis of bis(4-hydroxyphenyl)thiobarbituric acid, we believe that it should be possible to covalently incorporate these and…
