J. P. T. Vossen、L. Plomp、J.H.W. de Wit 等 4 位作者1995-10-01Journal of The Electrochemical Society

The corrosion behavior of five commercially available alloys (AISI 316L, AISI 310S, Inconel 601, Thermax 4762, and Kanthal A1) in molten carbonate under reducing gas atmospheres was investigated with cyclic voltammetry and quasi‐stationary polarization curve measurements. The reactions that proceed on these materials…

Solid–solid phase transitions in n-alkanes C23H48 and C25H52: X-ray power diffraction study on new layer stacking in phase V

Koji Nozaki、Naoki Higashitani、Takashi Yamamoto 等 4 位作者1995-10-01The Journal of Chemical Physics

The solid–solid phase transitions and the crystal structures of odd n-alkanes, n-C23H48, and n-C25H52, were investigated by x-ray powder diffraction. The phase transitions, I→V→RI for n-C23H48 and I→V→IV→RI for n-C25H52, were observed, where phases I, V, IV are the low-temperature ordered phases, and the phase RI is t…

Investigations of the phase transitions in Na0.5Bi0.5TiO3

J. Suchanicz1995-10-01Ferroelectrics

The dielectric, pyroelectric, electrostrictive, optical and thermal properties of Na0.5Bi0.5TiO3, in wide temperature range, particularly in the range of 200–340[ddot]C are presented and discussed. The results of investigations show the complicated nature of phase transition occurring in this material.

Purification and Characterization of the Bifunctional CobU Enzyme of Salmonella typhimurium LT2

George A. O’Toole、Jorge C. Escalante‐Semerena1995-10-01Journal of Biological Chemistry

The CobU protein of Salmonella typhimurium was overexpressed and purified to approximately 94% homogeneity. N-terminal sequencing of purified CobU confirmed the first 22 amino acids. In vitro assays showed that CobU has kinase and guanylyltransferase activities which catalyze the synthesis of adenosyl-cobinamide-GDP f…

An additional PIIinEscherichia coli: a new regulatory protein in the glutamine synthetase cascade

Wally C. van Heeswijk、Brenda I. Stegeman、Sjouke Hoving 等 6 位作者1995-10-01FEMS Microbiology Letters

The PII protein in the glutamine synthetase cascade transduces the nitrogen signal, as sensed by uridylyltransferase, both to the NRII/NRI two-component system and to adenylyltransferase, to regulate the activity of glutamine synthetase. Here we describe the amplification of a chromosomal DNA fragment from Escherichia…

Partial intensity analysis (PIA) for quantitative electron spectroscopy

Wolfgang Werner1995-10-01Surface and Interface Analysis

Abstract An approach is developed to separate the spectral contributions of electrons that have experienced a certain number of inelastic collisions and together constitute the observable lineshape in AES/XPS. The only assumption concerning the emission process that is made in this general approach is that energy loss…

The gene coding for the 3-phosphoglycerate kinase (EC 2.7.2.3) of Pyrococcus woesei was cloned and sequenced. The gene sequence comprises 1230 bp coding for a polypeptide with the theoretical M(r) of 46,195. The deduced protein sequence exhibits a high similarity (46.1% and 46.6% identity) to the other known archaeal…

Shuichi Murakami、Hiroyoshi Naito、Masahiro Okuda 等 4 位作者1995-10-01Journal of Applied Physics

Transient photocurrents in amorphous selenium (a-Se) and nematic liquid crystal (NLC) double layers have been investigated to elucidate the charge carrier transport process in NLC. It is shown that the transient photocurrents obtained in the experiment are space-charge limited currents induced by the delayed charge in…

Dense, small‐grained BaTiO 3 ceramics, with a grain size around 1 μm and a relative sintered density >98%, were obtained at 1100°C from sol‐gel‐derived gel monoliths without using any sintering additives. The monolithic gels asprepared had a relative density of about 50% and consisted of ultrafine pseudo‐cubic BaTi…
