鋳物廃砂由来の環境修復資材であるビオトープサンド(BTS)を閉鎖系水域のアオコ対策や水質改善に活用するために,実際のため池において実証試験を行った。2つのBTS活用方法として,浮上堆積したアオコへのBTS散布とBTSを充填したろ過装置の導入を行った。その結果,実証試験した2年間を通じて,ため池におけるアオコと水質は改善された。BTS散布とろ過装置の導入を併用することは,浮上堆積するアオコを沈降させる効果があり,ろ過装置の導入は,水質を改善する効果があると考えられた。さらに,魚や水生植物に対する安全性をラボスケールの育成実験により検討した結果,BTSは魚や水生植物の生育に悪影響を及ぼさないことが確認された。なお,BTSの存在によって…
