Oxidation Chemistry of Some Early Transition- Metal Layered Perovskites

K.J. Ward2005-01-01ScholarWorks @ The University of New Orleans (The University of New Orleans)

Early transition-metal oxyhalides, (MCl)LaNb2O7 (M = V, Cr) have been prepared by ion exchange of layered perovskite hosts, ALaNb2O7 (A = Li, Rb), with anhydrous metal halides, MCl2. These compounds contain low-valent metals (M2+) that are receptive to oxidation. Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) shows oxygen uptake at…

XAS Study of LaMn1xGaxO3 Series

M. C. Snchez、G. Subas、J. Garca 等 4 位作者2005-01-01Physica Scripta

The LaMn 1− x Ga x O 3 series has been studied by means of x-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS) at the Mn and Ga K-edges. The local electronic and geometric structure around Ga 3+ barely changes along the series showing that Ga 3+ only acts as a constructive element of the crystal structure. On the contrary, the intens…

Integrated chrome free upper leather processing. Part I: Selection of tanning system

S. Sadulla、J. Venkata Rao、Balaraman Madhan 等 5 位作者2005-01-01Journal of the American Leather Chemists Association

Conventionally, leather manufacture involves muti-step processing viz., beam house operations, tanning, post tanning and finishing. Even though this muti-step processing followed for centuries is logical, it will be highly beneficial if there is a possibility of integrating any of these steps. Hence in the current wor…

Hydrogen Induced Cracking of Low Strength Steels in Geothermal Fluids

Keith A. Lichti、David M. Firth、Annette Karstensen2005-01-01OpenAlex

Typically, low strength steels and annealed stainless steels are specified for geothermal energy applications because of the risk of Sulfide induced Stress Corrosion Cracking (SSCC) and Hydrogen Induced Cracking (HIC) in the presence of H2S containing fluids. Recent experience has demonstrated the risk of SSCC and HIC…

Inhibition of Diffusion Between Metallic Substrates and Ni-YSZ Anodes During Sintering

Marco Brandner2005-01-01ECS Proceedings Volumes

The BMW Group is engaged in the development of a SOFC system for mobile applications (auxiliary power unit – APU). Since this application demands low weight and high durability, metal supported-cells are preferred instead of sophisticated SOFCs using a thick anode support. Therefore tape-cast and pre-fired ferritic st…

Yttria Co-Doping of Scandia-Zirconia Electrolytes for SOFCs

John T. S. Irvine2005-01-01ECS Proceedings Volumes

Scandia stabilised zirconias offer much better performance than the conventional yttria stabilised materials and now it seems that availability and cost may not be hugely problematic. This offers a very important way forward to fuel cell manufacturing. It is shown here that a small addition of 2 mol% yttria to scandia…

EFFECT OF pH VALUES ON AS-EXTRUDED MAGNESIUM ALLOY AM60

Wei Ke2005-01-01Acta Metallurgica Sinica

The corrosion morphologies of as-extruded magnesium alloy AM60 in 3.5%NaCl aqueous solutions with pH 3 , 7 and 12 were observed, and the number and size of corrosion pits were measured. The effect of pH values on corrosion of AM60 and the role of AlMn particles in corrosion were discussed. A corrosion model of AM60 wa…

Structure of Polyacetal Polymer Blends Filled with Carbon Black

Yoshihisa Tajima2005-01-01KOBUNSHI RONBUNSHU
