Electronic structure and photoelectron spectra of B n with n = 26–29: an overview of structural characteristics and growth mechanism of boron clusters

Truong Ba Tai、Minh Tho Nguyen2015-01-01Physical Chemistry Chemical Physics

Boron clusters have been of great interest over the last few decades due to their unique chemical and physical properties. In the present work, we performed a theoretical study of geometrical and electronic structures of boron clusters Bn with n = 26-29 in both neutral and anionic states using DFT and MO computational…

Heterogeneous flow kinematics of cellulose nanofibril suspensions under shear

Florian Martoïa、Christophe Perge、Pierre Dumont 等 7 位作者2015-01-01Soft Matter

The rheology of NFC suspensions that exhibited different microstructures and colloidal stability, namely TEMPO and enzymatic NFC suspensions, was investigated at the macro and mesoscales using a transparent Couette rheometer combined with optical observations and ultrasonic speckle velocimetry (USV). Both NFC suspensi…

Liquid marbles as a micro-reactor for efficient radical alternating copolymerization of diene monomer and oxygen

Eriko Sato、Michihiro Yuri、Syuji Fujii 等 6 位作者2015-01-01Chemical Communications

Liquid marbles have been shown to be a novel micro-reactor to synthesize polyperoxides by the radical alternating copolymerization of the 1,3-diene monomer with oxygen in a good yield. Oxygen gas is effectively absorbed as a comonomer by the large and permeable gas-liquid interface of the liquid marbles.

Adhesive loose packings of small dry particles

Wenwei Liu、Shuiqing Li、Adrian Baule 等 4 位作者2015-01-01Soft Matter

We explore adhesive loose packings of small dry spherical particles of micrometer size using 3D discrete-element simulations with adhesive contact mechanics and statistical ensemble theory. A dimensionless adhesion parameter (Ad) successfully combines the effects of particle velocities, sizes and the work of adhesion,…

Co-electrolysis of steam and CO 2 in full-ceramic symmetrical SOECs: a strategy for avoiding the use of hydrogen as a safe gas

Marc Torrell、S. García-Rodríguez、Àlex Morata 等 5 位作者2015-01-01Faraday Discussions

The use of cermets as fuel electrodes for solid oxide electrolysis cells requires permanent circulation of reducing gas, e.g. H2 or CO, so called safe gas, in order to avoid oxidation of the metallic phase. Replacing metallic based electrodes by pure oxides is therefore proposed as an advantage for the industrial appl…
