The transport behaviour of some aromatic and aliphatic solvents through carbon nanotube filled styrene butadiene rubber composites has been investigated. The aim of the present work is to investigate the role of the sorption technique in analysing the compatibility and the reinforcing effect of MWCNTs as a filler in t…
Alternative light water reactor fuel cladding materials are being investigated to replace Zircaloy for enhanced accident tolerance, which involves oxidation resistance to steam environments at ≧1200°C for short times. As chromia-forming alloys and Ni-containing alloys are both undesirable for this application, the foc…
could be detected with a linear range from 0.1 to 100 μM. Meanwhile, by integrating glucose oxidase on the Fe-Phen-CFs composite, sensitive detection of glucose is also achieved with a linear range from 0.5 to 200 μM and a limit of detection of 0.19 μM. Most importantly, such a novel TA/Fe-Phen-CFs system can be succe…
The combination of the very different chemical natures of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) and proteins gives rise to systems with unprecedented performance, thanks to a rich pool of very diverse chemical, electronic, catalytic and biological properties. Here we review recent advances in the field, including innovative and ima…
A new red phosphor Cs 2 TiF 6 :Mn 4+ has been prepared by a facile cation exchange route, which can absorb the broad blue band and emit intense red light efficiently, and can be a potential candidate for application in indoor lighting WLEDs.
Three mononuclear complexes [Co(biq)X2] (biq = 2,2'-biquinoline; X = Cl, Br, I) were prepared by a solvothermal method and characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. In all three complexes the Co(ii) atom is tetrahedrally coordinated by one biq ligand bonded in a chelate manner and two halogenido ligands. Hydr…
The Raman spectra of seven A(2)MWO(6) tungstate double perovskites are analysed. Ba(2)MgWO(6) is a cubic double perovskite with Fm3[combining macron]m symmetry and its Raman spectrum contain three modes that can be assigned in a straightforward manner. A fourth mode, the asymmetric stretch of the [WO(6)](6-) octahedro…
Cobalt and nickel nanoparticles attached to single-walled carbon nanotubes were prepared by the dc-arc discharge technique and showed a microwave shielding effectiveness value of 24 dB for a 1.5 mm thick sample in the frequency range 12.4–18 GHz.
Supramolecular organization of a metal complex may significantly contribute to the magnetization dynamics of mononuclear SMMs. This is illustrated for a heptacoordinated Fe(II) complex with rather moderate Ising-type anisotropy for which a slow magnetization relaxation with significant energy barrier was reached when…
layers, and the removal of the inner carbon core and CTAB to produce HMSNs. The obtained HMSNs possess spherical morphology, a mesoporous shell, and crumpled surfaces. The controlled experiments prove that the addition of 3-ammonia propyl triethoxy silane (APTES) is very crucial for the formation of desired HMSNs. The…
Olivaceous 2D multi-layer graphene-like Co 3 O 4 thin sheets (CQU-Chen-Co-O-1) with vertically aligned nanosheets as basic building units were first prepared and they exhibited excellent pseudocapacitive performance.
In contrast to previous studies, we disclose for the first time that the singlet excited state ((1)PS*) of BODIPY rather than the triplet excited state ((3)PS*) can drive C-H bond activation to form C-C and C-P bonds smoothly, which offers new methods to promote organic transformation under visible light irradiation.
Structural and Hirshfeld surface analysis of sodium p -nitrophenolate dihydrate single crystal with excellent ferroelectric, mechanical, photoluminescence and NLO properties for optoelectronic device applications.
Hydrogenation helps to stabilize pentagonal silicene sheets, whose one-dimensional nanoribbons are intriguing bipolar magnetic semiconductors.
Molecular fluorophores based on N,C-chelate, four-coordinate organoborons exhibit tunable solid-state emission colors that cover the whole visible region from blue to red. The emission color can be tuned through the substituents on either quinolines or the boron center.
Nb-doped SrTiO3 bulk materials with high quality are fabricated using a facile process.
Electro-deposited CoNi 2 S 4 nanosheets on 3D hierarchically porous nickel skeletons demonstrate excellent electrochemical capacitive performance.
A series of nitrogen-rich conjugated microporous polymers has been designed and synthesized. The polymers produced from the rigid building block show an increased specific surface area up to 1146 m 2 g −1 with a remarkable CO 2 uptake of 3.72 mmol g −1 at 1.13 bar and 273 K.
Due to rapidly increasing power densities in nanoelectronics, efficient heat removal has become one of the most critical issues in thermal management and nanocircuit design. In this study, we report a surface nanoengineering design that can reduce the interfacial thermal resistance between graphene and copper substrat…
