A series of photoactive rare earth coordination polymer materials RE/Ad/BPDC (Ad = adeninate, BPDC = biphenyl-4,4′-dicarboxylate) with tunable multi-color luminescence are synthesized. Y 0.99 Eu 0.01 /Ad/BPDC has a selective fluorescence quenching effect for Fe 3+ and Cr 2 O 7 2− .
