Technical Note: Determination of Blister Formation of External Pipeline Coatings Based on Current Spikes in the Cathodic Disbondment Test

Sankara Papavinasam、Michael Attard、R. Winston Revie2009-10-01CORROSION

A modified cathodic disbondment (CD) test was carried out over a period of 14 months using 13 different pipeline coatings. During the test the current was recorded every 4 h. Certain types of coatings developed blisters after 60 days. The formation of the blisters resulted in characteristic spikes in the current. Othe…

Abstract We report the sonophysically‐exfoliated methods access to the preparation of homogeneous‐free multi‐walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) in water solution. Highly stable, uniform, individual MWCNTs are entirely performed through sodium dodecylsulfate surfactants by means of a tip sinicator. HRTEM images show that…

Boron PLA for oxygen sensing & hypoxia imaging

Cassandra L. Fraser、Guoqing Zhang2009-10-01Materials Today

Oxygen is essential for many forms of life and its depletion in the body and the environment can lead to deleterious effects. Low oxygen conditions, even anoxia, are associated with eutrophication of lakes and rivers, wherein an over abundance of nutrients often caused by pollution result in excessive plant growth and…
