Quantitative analysis of chemoattractant gradient induced cell migration velocity and automatic controller design

Hao Yang、Xue Gou、Henry K. Chu 等 5 位作者2014-08-01OpenAlex

Cell chemotaxis is a phenomenon in which cells spatially sense the chemoattractant gradient in the extra-environment and move along this gradient. This paper illustrates the relationship between the chemoattractant gradient and the cell velocity quantitatively, using a single-cell motility assay method based on optica…

Functional validation of an implantable medical dosing device by MRI at 3T

J. Anderson、Silvia Ferrati、Chistof Karmonik 等 4 位作者2014-08-01OpenAlex

Sustained release of a small molecule from a prototype implantable drug delivery device was monitored via MRI in an ex vivo tissue phantom over a period of two days. T1 mapping was used as a method to quantify analyte concentration. Continuous, controlled release was observed. The MRI methodology was thus found to be…

Study of interactions between cells and microbubbles in high speed centrifugation field for biomolecule delivery

Chuan He、Jie Chen2014-08-01OpenAlex

Biomolecule delivery has a very wide range of applications in biology and medicine. In this study, a microbubble based delivery method was developed. In a high centrifugation field, cells deform and collide with microbubbles to induce intracellular pathways on cell membranes. As a result, biomaterials can then easily…

Modulation depth enhancement in Si quantum dot doped SiOx waveguide based free-carrier modulator by adding a ring resonator

Sheng-Pin Su、Chung-Lun Wu、Gong‐Ru Lin2014-08-01OpenAlex

The Si quantum dot doped SiOxwaveguide based free-carrier absorption modulator with enhanced modulation depth from 52.5% to 63.5% is demonstrated by adding a ring resonator and inducing the electron-hole plasma to cause a resonance shift in the ring.

Analysis and comparison of two brushless DC generators with doubly salient structure and stator field winding

Yiwei Zhao、Zhuoran Zhang2014-08-01OpenAlex

In this paper, comparison of 12/8-pole doubly salient electro-magnetic generator (DSEG) and 12/10-pole flux-switching electro-magnetic generator (FSEG) for dc generator application is performed. The configuration, operation principle and electromagnetic performance (i.e. field distribution, phase flux linkage, phase v…
