Two-dimensional (2D) nanomaterials, including graphene and boron nitride (BN), have been of intense interest in recent years due to their exceptional electronic, thermal, and mechanical properties. Tailoring these novel properties to their maximum potential requires precise control of the atomic layer growth process.…
We demonstrate room temperature electroluminescence with Schottky contacts on n-doped germanium. We show that the electrical response and electroluminescence can be optimized by inserting a thin Al2O3layer prior to contact formation.

Epitaxial graphene on SiC(0001) is used to fabricate Hall bar structures for metrological applications with a fabrication process that has been developed to eliminate organic chemical contamination of the graphene. Before any lithographic patterning a metal protection layer of 15 nm thickness is deposited on as-grown…
analysis, combined with confocal microscopy of live cells, demonstrated that the AgNWs penetrated through the plasma membrane of type 1 epithelial cells and distributed within the cytoplasm and endosomes. The AgNWs were dissolved inside the cells and subsequently transformed into highly insoluble Ag 2 S. We suggest th…

Graphene oxide (GO) paper and Ag nanowires/GO compound (Ag NWs/GO) paper are fabricated by vacuum filtration method, and then ZnO films are deposited on GO paper and Ag NWs/GO paper, respectively, using magnetron sputtering. Morphology, crystal structure, and optical properties are analyzed. X-ray diffraction (XRD) re…

Anode support cell is one the most common configuration fuel cell used in the SOFC technology. The major problem of this technology is the high reactivity between electrolyte (YSZ) and cathode (LSC). One solution to overcome this problem consists in applying a buffer layer to avoid reactivity phenomenon. Three differe…

A type of half-embedded cone grating nanostructure is proposed for antireflection (AR). It can achieve reflectance of down to 0.5% under normal incidence and 6% under incidence angle as large as 40 degrees in the 300-1100 nm wavelength range. Besides, it can maintain good performance in a large dimension range with a…
High conformity sidewall ZnO nanorods are manufactured on etched Si by hydrothermal method. The temperature is fixed at 90 degree Celsius. The morphology of ZnO nanorods is examined by scanning electron microscopy. Also, the results show that we successfully spin coat ZnO seed layer on the sidewalls of grooves. Moreov…

This article reports a new method to cover powder substrates with metallic nanoparticles (NPs) via an electro-magnetic vibrational device adapted to magnetron sputtering equipment. In the present work, it is presented the deposition of Cu, Au, Ni and Pd over three different substrates, Al2O3, SBA15 and Lipase, each on…
Isolation of a single sheet of graphene indicated that strictly two-dimensional (2D) materials can exist at finite temperatures. Indeed, inorganic 2D systems such as hexagonal BN sheets, transition metal dichalcogenides (TMD) with a common structural formula MeX 2 , where Me stands for transition metals (Mo, W, Ti, et…
