Novel polyaniline-based ammonia sensors on plastic substrates

Ehsan Danesh2014-07-31Research Explorer (The University of Manchester)

This thesis describes the development of high performing low-cost and low-power ammonia sensors on plastic substrates using solution processing techniques. As a part of the Marie Curie Initial Training Networks, FlexSmell project aimed at the realisation of such sensors as elements of a sensing system on flexible tags…

High-Throughput Experimentation in Catalysis and Materials Science

Álvaro Gordillo、Sven Titlbach、Cornelia Futter 等 8 位作者2014-07-31Ullmann's Encyclopedia of Industrial Chemistry

High-throughput experimentation (HTE) in catalysis and materials science has become a mature technology since the late 1990s. The reasons for the success of HTE are the potential of increased R&D efficiency, which allow shortening of experimental periods, quick systematic insights, and finally faster time-to-market. K…

Off-gas treatment systems in used fuel reprocessing which use fixed-bed adsorbers are typically designed to operate for an extended period of time before replacement or regeneration of the adsorbent. During this time, the sorbent material will be exposed to the off-gas stream. Exposure could last for months, depending…

Sustainability assessment of the production of sisal fiber in Brazil

Stijn Dellaert2014-07-31Utrecht University Repository (Utrecht University)

Natural fibers are increasingly researched and applied in fiber reinforced polymer car parts. Compared to synthetic reinforcing fibers such as glass fiber, natural fibers offer several advantages such as lower weight, lower price and renewability. To assess whether these natural fibers are also more sustainable, all t…

Biomineralization

Marc A. Meyers、Po‐Yu Chen2014-07-31Cambridge University Press eBooks

Introduction Although there are over 80 minerals present in biological systems, the most important are hydroxyapatite (HAP) (mammals and fishes), calcium carbonates (shells, arthropods, corals), and silica (diatoms, sponges). These minerals seem to have evolved from approximately 560 million years ago. Minerals are es…

Catalysis by Metallic Nanoparticles

作者信息未提供2014-07-31Royal Society of Chemistry eBooks

Catalysis means reducing the activation energy of an elementary reaction step. This requires chemical interaction of the reactant with the catalyst and continuous energy optimisation of both reaction intermediate and catalyst, along the reaction path, in the same way as it is done in quantum chemical calculations. Flu…

Weibull Analysis

John W. Pepi2014-07-31OpenAlex

We have seen that determining inert strength (S, σi) of a sample population is critical in determining lifetime. Equally critical is knowing the reliability of such strength determination. For brittle materials, in which the most severe scratch in the population determines failure, a failure probability distribution d…

Laser Performance of Some Cr4+- and Cr2+-doped Hosts

Yehoshua Kalisky2014-07-31OpenAlex

Rare earth and transition-metal ions that are doped in a solid host have been operated successfully as solid state lasers for several decades. Solid state lasers based on ions such as Nd3þ, Ho3þ, Tm3þ, and Er3þ (and many other rare earth ions doped in crystals such as Nd:YAG, Nd:YVO4, Nd:YLF, or various glasses) are c…

A Study on the comparison on Adsorption characteristics of Zeolite and DETOX for the removal of H2S

Dae-Seok Park、Ji-Young Lim、Young-Gun Cho 等 5 位作者2014-07-31Journal of the Korea Academia-Industrial cooperation Society

Solubility of Tetranitrodimerglycoluril (TNDGU) in Different Solvents at Temperatures between 293.15 K and 313.15 K

Kejian Cui、Yumei Yang、Zihui Meng 等 6 位作者2014-07-31Journal of Chemical & Engineering Data

Tetranitrodimerglycoluril (TNDGU) is a newly developed insensitive energetic material. Its solubility in methanol, propanone, ethyl ethanoate, and ethanenitrile between 293.15 K and 313.15 K at atmospheric pressure was investigated by the gravimetric method. The order of the solubility of TNDGU is ethanenitrile > ethy…
