日本が今後、二酸化炭素(CO2)排出削減を進めていくためにはどのような対策が必要であるのかを探るため、二酸化炭素排出量の多い鉄鋼工業と化学工業に焦点を当て、温室効果ガス排出量の削減目標の基準年となっている1990年以降のCO2排出削減を促進する経済・政策要因の特定とその効果を検証した。分析結果から、エネルギー集約の高い鉄鋼業は、1990年以降はエネルギー原単位の改善がみられないことから、省エネルギー対策の効果は1990年代から薄れてきたことが分かった。一方で、二酸化炭素原単位は、エネルギー効率化や使用燃料の削減、技術改善や再生可能エネルギーの導入などにより、炭素集約の少ない燃料への転換などを通じた改善の余地があることが示された。ま…
