Fluctuation Mechanism of Mechanical Properties of Electroplated-Copper Thin Films Used for Three Dimensional Electronic Modules

Hideo Miura、Kazuhiko Sakutani、Kinji TAMAKAWA2007-09-10Key engineering materials

The mechanical properties of copper thin films deposited by sputtering and electroplating were compared using tensile test and nano-indentation. Both the Young’s modulus and tensile strength of the films were found to vary drastically depending on the microstructure of the deposited films. The Young’s modulus of the s…

E. Buixaderas、S. Kamba、J. Petzelt 等 6 位作者2007-09-10Applied Physics Letters

A huge dielectric anisotropy has been found in Pb0.775La0.15(Zr0.4Ti0.6)O3 (PLZT 15∕40∕60) ceramics by analysis of infrared reflectivity spectra. Anisotropy is present in both the relaxor and the ferroelectric phases. Infrared spectra were evaluated using Bruggeman’s formula within the effective medium approximation.…

Ahmed Naitabdi、Beatriz Roldán Cuenya2007-09-10Applied Physics Letters

The surface composition of isolated Au0.5Fe0.5 nanoparticles (NPs) synthesized by micelle encapsulation and supported on TiO2(110) has been investigated. The study reveals that phase-segregated structures are present after annealing at 300°C. A subsequent thermal treatment at 700°C resulted in the formation of a AuFe…

Enhanced electroluminescence efficiency of oxidized amorphous silicon nitride light-emitting devices by modulating Si∕N ratio

Rui Huang、Kunji Chen、Hengping Dong 等 9 位作者2007-09-10Applied Physics Letters

The authors had reported green-yellow electroluminescence (EL) from N-rich oxidized amorphous silicon nitride (a-SiN:O) light-emitting devices (LEDs) in a previous work. In this work, a significantly enhanced EL intensity was obtained in the LED by employing Si-rich a-SiN:O instead of N-rich a-SiN:O as luminescent act…

Strain-relaxed structure in (001)∕(100)-oriented epitaxial PbTiO3 films grown on (100) SrTiO3 substrates by metal organic chemical vapor deposition

Hiroshi Nakaki、Yong Kwan Kim、Shintaro Yokoyama 等 7 位作者2007-09-10Applied Physics Letters

The authors grew (001)- and (001)∕(100)-oriented epitaxial PbTiO3 films with various thicknesses on (100)SrTiO3 substrates. They used x-ray diffraction to measure the angles between surface normal [001] of (001)-oriented domains and [100] of (100)-oriented domains. The angles were found to be approximately 3.6° when t…

Mixed valency in organic charge transfer complexes

Gunzi Saito、T. Murata2007-09-10Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society A Mathematical Physical and Engineering Sciences

Mixed-valence (partial charge transfer state) and segregated stacking are the key factors for constructing organic metals. Here, we discuss the ionicity phase diagrams for a variety of charge transfer systems to provide a strategy for the development of functional organic materials (Mott insulator, semiconductor, supe…

Spin-mixing conductances of thin magnetic films from first principles

Karel Carva、I. Turek2007-09-10Physical Review B

We present a first-principles theory of the spin-mixing conductance for a thin ferromagnetic film embedded epitaxially between two nonmagnetic metallic electrodes. The complex spin-mixing conductance is formulated as a linear response of the spin torque experienced by the film due to the spin accumulation in one of th…
