A key consideration for the efficient operation of hybrid solar cells based upon conjugated polymers and inorganic semiconductor nanocrystals is charge transport in the nanocrystal phase. Here we report the results of a study into the charge transport kinetics of polymer/nanocrystal solar cells based on blends poly(3-…

Two benzoxazole-derived ESIPT fluorescent sensors and show highly selective detection of Zn(2+) and Cd(2+), respectively, in aqueous solution and living cells. The selectivity switching from Zn(2+) to Cd(2+) is attributed to the different binding mode which is dependent on the 3'-O-substituted arrangement.

A facile and efficient route was used to synthesise Pd nanoparticles by reduction of an organopalladium(II) complex, [PdCl2(cod)] (cod = cis,cis-1,5-cyclooctadiene), at the oil–water interface. Pd/reduced-graphene oxide and Pd free stabilizer nanoparticle thin films were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spe…

Silver nanowires (AgNWs) have been synthesized by polyol process through different mediated agents (CuCl2 and NaCl). The presence of cations and anions (Cu(II), Na+, and Cl−) has been shown to have a strong impact on the shape of silver nanostructures. The field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM) and transm…

closo-Dodecaborate-encapsulating liposomes were developed as boron delivery vehicles for neutron capture therapy. The use of spermidinium as a counter cation of closo-dodecaborates was essential not only for the preparation of high boron content liposome solutions but also for efficient boron delivery to tumors.
