Tannic acid (TA)-based multilayer assemblies have attracted increasing interest for biomedical applications. Here we explore properties of TA-poly(N-vinylpyrrolidone) (TA-PVPON) hydrogen-bonded multilayers for drug encapsulation and long-term storage. We demonstrate that the small molecular weight anticancer drug, dox…

Reduced TiO 2 rutile nanorods with well-defined facets and their visible-light photocatalytic activity

Zhao Zhao、Huaqiao Tan、Haifeng Zhao 等 7 位作者2014-01-01Chemical Communications

Stable reduced TiO2 rutile nanorods with well-defined facets were prepared by a solvothermal route in the presence of Zn powder. The oxygen vacancy in the TiO2 nanorods, which can be tuned by the amount of Zn, results in a narrow band gap and visible-light photocatalytic activity.

The organic ligands with mixed N-/O-donors used in construction of functional metal–organic frameworks

Xiaoliang Zhao、Wei‐Yin Sun2014-01-01CrystEngComm

Metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) are coordination compounds with infinite structures consisting of metal ions/clusters and organic ligands linked through coordination interactions. The reported studies prove the fact that the nature of the organic ligands dominates the final structures as well as properties of function…

Nanoparticle Drug- and Gene-eluting Stents for the Prevention and Treatment of Coronary Restenosis

Rui‐Xing Yin、De-Zhai Yang、Jin‐Zhen Wu2014-01-01Theranostics

Percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) has become the most common revascularization procedure for coronary artery disease. The use of stents has reduced the rate of restenosis by preventing elastic recoil and negative remodeling. However, in-stent restenosis remains one of the major drawbacks of this procedure. Drug…

An aggregation-induced emission (AIE) active probe renders Al( iii ) sensing and tracking of subsequent interaction with DNA

Soham Samanta、Sudeep Goswami、Md. Najbul Hoque 等 5 位作者2014-01-01Chemical Communications

An aggregation-induced emission (AIE) active probe (L) displayed TURN-ON fluorescence response toward Al(3+) under physiological conditions and in HeLa cells. The L-Al(3+) ensemble could subsequently facilitate tracking of interaction with DNA in solution.

Qinglong Jiang、Xia Sheng、Yingxuan Li 等 5 位作者2014-01-01Chemical Communications

Different lengths of rutile TiO2 nanowires (NW) with wide-open space for effective material filling were used as photoanodes for perovskite solar cells. Cells with 900 nm nanowires as photoanodes exhibit a current density of 22 mA cm(-2) and an efficiency of 11.7%, outperforming the reported TiO2 nanowire-based perovs…
