Dynamics of photogenerated holes in undoped BiVO 4 photoanodes for solar water oxidation

Yimeng Ma、Stephanie R. Pendlebury、Anna Reynal 等 5 位作者2014-01-01Chemical Science

We use transient absorption spectroscopy and photoelectrochemical methods to study the dynamics of photogenerated holes in BiVO 4 for solar water oxidation. The back electron/hole recombination is found to be slow and therefore competes with water oxidation, limiting water oxidation efficiency.

The use of atomic layer deposition in advanced nanopatterning

Adriaan J. M. Mackus、Ageeth A. Bol、W. M. M. Kessels2014-01-01Nanoscale

Atomic layer deposition (ALD) is a method that allows for the deposition of thin films with atomic level control of the thickness and an excellent conformality on 3-dimensional surfaces. In recent years, ALD has been implemented in many applications in microelectronics, for which often a patterned film instead of full…

Toward Green Concrete for Better Sustainable Environment

Bambang Suhendro2014-01-01Procedia Engineering

Eight to 10 percent of the world's total CO2 emissions come from manufacturing cement. The global warming gas is released when limestone and clays are crushed and heated to high temperatures. Green concrete is defined as a concrete which uses waste material as at least one of its components, or its production process…

Dual-graphite cells based on the reversible intercalation of bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide anions from an ionic liquid electrolyte

Sergej Rothermel、Paul Meister、Guido Schmuelling 等 8 位作者2014-01-01Energy & Environmental Science

We present highly promising results for the use of graphite as both electrodes in a “dual-carbon” cell. An ionic liquid-based electrolyte mixture allows stable and highly reversible ion intercalation/de-intercalation into/from the electrodes.

In situ Raman study of lithium-ion intercalation into microcrystalline graphite

Christopher Sole、Nicholas E. Drewett、Laurence J. Hardwick2014-01-01Faraday Discussions

The first and second order Raman spectra of graphite during the first lithiation and delithiation have been investigated in a typical lithium-ion battery electrolyte. In situ, real-time Raman measurements under potential control enable the probing of the graphitic negative electrode surface region during ion insertion…
