We have studied the effects of accumulating cyclic electrical pulses of increasing amplitude on the non-volatile resistance state of interfaces made by sputtering a metal (Au, Pt) on top of the surface of a cuprate superconductor YBa2Cu3O7–δ. We have analyzed the influence of the number of applied pulses N on the rela…

We report on the characterization of microwave loss of thin aluminum oxide films at low temperatures using superconducting lumped resonators. The oxide films are fabricated using plasma oxidation of aluminum and have a thickness of 5 nm. We measure the dielectric loss versus microwave power for resonators with frequen…

In chemical functionalization of colloidal particles, the functional moieties are generally distributed rather homogeneously on the particle surface. Recently, a variety of synthetic protocols have been developed in which particle functionalization may be carried out in a spatially controlled fashion, leading to the p…

The magnetic phase diagram of a ground state is studied theoretically for graphene nanoflakes of bow-tie shape and various sizes in external in-plane magnetic field. The tight-binding Hamiltonian supplemented with Hubbard term is used to model the electronic structure of the systems in question. The existence of the a…

A classical molecular static technique (CMST) and DFT calculations using SIESTA, are employed here to characterize the self diffusion and the tracer solute diffusion in the bulk of BCC diluted $FeCr$ alloy driven by both vacancy and interstitial migration. For the first time in the literature, a six-frequency model (d…

A naphthalene diimide (NDI) building block containing hydrazide (H1) and hydroxy (H2) groups self-assembled into a reverse-vesicular structure in methylcyclohexane by orthogonal H-bonding and π-stacking. At an elevated temperature (LCST=43 °C), destruction of the assembled structure owing to selective dissociation of…

Multilayer steels have been developed to provide a novel route to achieving higher-performance steels by employing a high-strength steel and a high-ductility steel independently in the layer structure. In this article, a background to the development, design, fabrication, properties, and applications of multilayer ste…

This paper reports a facile fabrication of N‐doped graphene quantum dots (N‐GQDs) showing controllable chemical properties through a hydrothermal treatment. The N‐GQDs have a uniform size of 3.06 ± 0.78 nm and prefer the equilibrium shapes of circle and ellipse due to the minimization of edge free energy. The N/C atom…

A halogen-free phosphorus-containing triol named phosphoryltrimethanol (PTMA) was synthesized and used as a cross-linking agent and a reactive-type flame retardant to prepare inherently flame-retardant flexible polyurethane foam (FPUF). Incorporation of a low content (7.8 wt %) of PTMA into the polyurethane chains can…

In this work, the optical properties of carbon nanoparticles (CNPs) can be modulated by the dopant‐N atom and sp2 C‐contents. CNPs prepared with the low urea mass ratio of 0.2:1 (CNP1) exhibit blue emission (maximum PL quantum yield: 15%). Increasing sp2 C‐ and dopant‐N atom contents, as determined in CNPs prepared wi…
