Magnetic frustration and iron-vacancy ordering in iron chalcogenide

Chen Fang、Bao Xu、Pengcheng Dai 等 5 位作者2012-04-02Physical Review B

We study the spin- and vacancy-ordered states in 122 iron chalcogenides (${A}_{1\ensuremath{-}y}$Fe${}_{2\ensuremath{-}x}$Se${}_{2}$) by inspecting the magnetic ground states of a ${J}_{1}$-${J}_{2}$-${J}_{3}$ model on different vacancy-ordered lattices observed/conjectured in these compounds. A highly frustrated ${J}…

Abstract Scale deposition in producing wellbores is a serious problem in the industry. The problem gets worse, when the scale is caused due to barium and strontium salts. These salts are difficult to clean as they are not easily soluble in any kinds of solution or chelating agents. In case of offshore operation, the s…

Tao Wei、Yunhui Huang、Qin Zhang 等 9 位作者2012-04-02Chemistry of Materials

We demonstrate a new type of solid-oxide fuel cell (SOFC) with thermoelectric Na1−xCuxCo2O4 (0 ≤ x ≤ 1) as cathode materials to generate an additional potential that can be clearly detected. Such a thermoelectric SOFC can provide an extra power conversion from the waste heat to enhance the conversion efficiency.

Two-dimensional order-disorder transition of argon monolayer adsorbed on graphitized carbon black: Kinetic Monte Carlo method

E. A. Ustinov、D. D.2012-04-02The Journal of Chemical Physics

We present results of application of the kinetic Monte Carlo technique to simulate argon adsorption on a graphite surface at temperatures below and above the triple point. We show that below the triple point the densification of the adsorbed layer with loading results in the rearrangement of molecules to form a hexago…

Jieun Yang、Jungwoo Kim、Hyeon Suk Shin2012-04-02Advanced Materials

A facile method for the fabrication of negatively and positively charged rGO field effect transistors (FETs) is proposed, which utilizes electrostatic attraction between electrodes and rGO sheets. Negatively and positively charged rGO sheets are functionalized with carboxylic acid and amine groups, respectively. The F…

Direct Imaging of Atomic-Scale Ripples in Few-Layer Graphene

Wei L. Wang、Sagar Bhandari、Wei Yi 等 6 位作者2012-04-02Nano Letters

Graphene has been touted as the prototypical two-dimensional solid of extraordinary stability and strength. However, its very existence relies on out-of-plane ripples as predicted by theory and confirmed by experiments. Evidence of the intrinsic ripples has been reported in the form of broadened diffraction spots in r…
