KINK SOLITONS IN DNA

SLOBODAN ZDRAVKOVIĆ、MILJKO V. SATARIĆ、MUTHIAH DANIEL2013-10-02International Journal of Modern Physics B

We study DNA dynamics relying on the plane-base rotator model for DNA. It is shown that this dynamics can be represented by kink and antikink solitons. We demonstrate that two velocities are relevant and these are the velocities of both a double and a single stranded DNA. A key question is which one is bigger as this…

Feng Tao、Xiaobo Chen、Guangqun Zhai2013-10-02Macromolecular Chemistry and Physics

A novel strategy is proposed to initiate radical graft polymerization of sodium acrylate (NaAAc) from amine‐functionalized SiO2 nanoparticles (SiO2‐NH2) to prepare hybrid SiO2 nanoparticles with NaPAAc chains (SiO2‐g‐NaPAAc). The polymerization is carried out in aqueous media at ca. 70–90 °C using CuSO4 as an oxidizin…

Alexandra Hermann、Ralf Mruk、Robert F. Roskamp 等 6 位作者2013-10-02Macromolecular Chemistry and Physics

Narrowly distributed ( N ‐isopropylacrylamide) (NIPAM) polymers are prepared by reversible addition–fragmentation chain transfer (RAFT) polymerization. After successful cleavage of the trithiocarbonate end groups (thiol generation), they can be grafted to styrene‐butadiene rubber (SBR) by a radical thiol‐ene reaction…
