ゼオライト触媒を用いてバイオエタノールからプロピレンを合成するプロセスについて,実験値を説明できるように反応機構の探索・構築ならびに反応速度定数の決定を行い,プロセスのシミュレーターを開発した.最終的に決定された反応機構は,16の化学種が関与する28の反応式から構成されている.反応速度定数(頻度因子と活性化エネルギー)の値は,反応シミュレーションによる計算値と実験値の差を最小にする非線形最適化問題として,遺伝的アルゴリズムを用いて解くことにより決定した.シミュレーターによる計算結果は,プロピレンやエチレン等の主要成分の実験結果をよく説明できており,反応器の最適な設計・操作に役立つことが期待される.
