Free base porphyrin molecules form well-defined and ordered nanoclusters in mixed solvents with absorption characteristics that significantly differ from those of the monomer form. These self-assembled crystallites in acetonitrile/toluene (9 ∶ 1, v/v) can be deposited as thin films on a nanostructured TiO2 electrode u…

Jinquan Wei、Lijie Ci、Bin Jiang 等 8 位作者2003-01-01Journal of Materials Chemistry

Double-walled carbon nanotubes (DWNTs) were prepared using floating chemical vapor deposition by adding a small amount of sulfur into the catalyst. The outer diameter of the DWNTs is from 1.5 to 3 nm. Raman study on DWNTs shows that the interlayer distance between the inner and outer tubes varies from 0.33 to 0.41 nm.…

Ultrafine-grained steel bars with a cross section of 18 mm square were fabricated through a multi-pass warm caliber-rolling for a 0.15%C-0.3%Si-1.5%Mn steel. The average ferrite grain sizes of 0.43 μm, 0.70μm and 1.2μm were obtained in the isothermal rolling processes at 773K, 823K and 873K, respectively. Despite of i…

The hydrothermal reaction of the mixture of K2WO4·2H2O, CuSO4·5H2O, ethylenediamine and H2O at 170 °C for 72 h yields purple needle-like crystals of [Cu(en)2]3[{Cu(en)2}2(H2W12O42)]·12H2O. Single crystal X-ray diffraction reveals that the structure consists of one-dimensional [{Cu(en)2}2(H2W12O42)]n6n− anions with dis…

Mechanical Properties and Grindability of Dental Cast Ti-Nb Alloys

Masafumi Kikuchi、Masatoshi Takahashi、Osamu Okuno2003-01-01Dental Materials Journal

Aiming at developing a dental titanium alloy with better mechanical properties and machinability than unalloyed titanium, a series of Ti-Nb alloys with Nb concentrations up to 30% was made. They were cast into magnesia-based molds using a dental casting machine and the mechanical properties and grindability of the cas…

New strategies for the synthesis of t-selenium nanorods and nanowires

Ujjal K. Gautam、Manashi Nath、C. N. R. Rao2003-01-01Journal of Materials Chemistry

Two different strategies for the synthesis of t-selenium nanorods and nanowires are described, wherein the solution based method involves a reaction of selenium powder with NaBH4 while the other employs the thermal decomposition of [(CH3)4N]4Ge4Se10.

Effect of Synthesis Conditions on the Performance of Cu-CeO[sub 2]-YSZ Anodes in SOFCs

Hongpeng He、John M. Vohs、Raymond J. Gorte2003-01-01Journal of The Electrochemical Society

The effect that synthesis procedures have on the performance of (yttria-stabilized zirconia) anodes for solid oxide fuel cells (SOFC) has been investigated. Using a fixed concentration of 20 wt % Cu and 10 wt % impregnated into a porous YSZ matrix using metal salts, it is shown that the methods used to prepare and Cu…
