Abstract The nature of tin pyrophosphate complexes present in aqueous solutions of Sn2P2O7 and either Na2P2O7 or K4P2O7 (used for electroplating of tin and tin alloys on metallic and other conductive substrates) in various pH regions is investigated by 119Sn and 31P NMR, and IR spectroscopy.
