銅管の蟻の巣状腐食はギ酸や酢酸のような有機カルボン酸を含む湿った気相中でのみ生じると言われてきた.本研究では,液相中での銅管の蟻の巣状腐食を再現するため,ギ酸溶液中に銅管を28日間浸漬した.1,5,10,100,1000ppmギ酸溶液中に銅管を28日間浸漬したところ,蟻の巣状腐食が発生した.一方,10000 ppmのギ酸溶液に浸漬した銅管には全面腐食が発生した.ギ酸と硫酸イオンとが共存する溶液中において,蟻の巣状腐食の発生・進展が加速されることが明らかになった.
