S. Zamora、Cecília Mendes da Silva、Jens Ejbye Schmidt 等 5 位作者1991-11-15Journal of Applied Physics

The lattice parameters and the saturation magnetization are measured for the series of intermetallic compounds A(Fe,B)2, A=Zr, Hf and B=Si and Al, with concentrations less than 15%. The magnetization measurements and the lattice parameter behavior are qualitatively discussed.

Die-upset Nd2Fe14 M magnets (M=B and C)

C. D. Fuerst、E. G. Brewer1991-11-15Journal of Applied Physics

Melt-spun Nd-Fe-B ribbons are limited to remanences of about 8 kG by the random orientation of the Nd2Fe14B grains. Hot deformation (die upsetting) causes these grains to reorient with the c axis aligned along the press direction, resulting in a 50% increase in the remanence (12 kG). Previously others have produced ma…

Magnetic properties of RTiCo11 (R=Y, La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Sm, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, and Er) compounds with the ThMn12 structure were investigated in the temperature range from 4.2 to 1400 K. The Curie temperatures of this series exceed 1000 K and the Co atomic moments were found to take the values ranging from 0.99 to 1.80 μB, w…

The magnetic and structural properties of Co100−xMnx alloys have been studied in the range 0≤x≤50 at. %. The structural phase diagram, which was revised with the aid of resistivity and thermal-expansion measurements for 4<T<1200 K, shows that the fcc↔hcp (γ↔ε) martensitic transformation temperature in Co…

Magnetic properties of the sintered magnets produced from a Nd-Fe-B-Cu-type material

A. Kianvash、I.R. Harris1991-11-15Journal of Applied Physics

The magnetic properties of Nd17Fe76.5B5Cu1.5-type sintered magnets, produced using a combination of hydrogen decrepitation and milling, have been investigated. An isothermal anneal or a step anneal, both performed after homogenization, resulted in a marked improvement of magnetic properties of the sintered magnets. Th…

Neutron diffraction study of ternary nitrides of the type R2Fe17Nx

Ying-chang Yang、Xiaodong Zhang、Lin-shu Kong 等 9 位作者1991-11-15Journal of Applied Physics

We have carried out neutron diffraction measurements on powder samples of Nd2Fe17Nx and Y2Fe17Nx at room temperature. The refinements of the neutron data indicate that the nitrogen atoms occupy the 9e interstices in the nitride Nd2Fe17Nx (Th2Zn17 type, R3̄m) or the 6h interstices in the nitride Y2Fe17Nx (Th2Ni17 type,…

Linear and quadratic magnetoelectric (ME) effect in Ni-Cl boracite

J.‐P. Rivera、Heinz Schmid1991-11-15Journal of Applied Physics

Quasistatic and dynamic measurements of the magnetic field induced magnetoelectric polarization (MEH effect) have been performed in the weakly ferromagnetic/ferroelectric/ferroelastic phase of point group m′m2′ of Ni-Cl boracite between 1.8 and 9 K (=TC) and above. For the first time the quadratic MEH effect of Ni-Cl…

Akihito Taguchi、H. Nakagome、Kenichiro Takahei1991-11-15Journal of Applied Physics

Thermal quenching mechanism of Yb intra-4f-shell luminescence were clarified by studying the temperature dependences of electrical and optical properties of Yb-doped InP samples. The quenching mechanism which depends on shallow donor concentration was found by comparing temperature dependences of Yb 4f-shell luminesce…

Empty electron states inFe2O3by ultraviolet inverse-photoemission spectroscopy

We present a set of angle-integrated inverse-photoemission data on ${\mathrm{Fe}}_{2}$${\mathrm{O}}_{3}$ taken in the ultraviolet region (12.1--24.2 eV) in the isochromat mode. The photon-energy dependence of the spectra gives direct insight into the orbital origin of the empty electron states in the oxide. The result…

Sm2(Fe,M)17Nx compounds and magnets

M. Endoh、M. Iwata、M. Tokunaga1991-11-15Journal of Applied Physics

The effect of additives has been studied for the Sm2Fe17Nx compounds. Only Co addition increases the Curie temperature. The Ti, V, or Co additions increase the anisotropy field. The additions of these elements are favorable for the magnet fabrication. The magnet fabrication has been carried out by the Zn metal bonding…
