Recycled polyurethane elastomers: a universal adhesive

Jenő Borda、Anikó Rácz、Miklós Zsuga2002-01-01Journal of Adhesion Science and Technology

The practical application of the glycolysis mixture of polyurethane wastes is reported. It was found that in the presence of 4,4′-diphenylmethane diisocyanate (MDI) both the separated upper phase of the glycolysis mixture and the complete two-phase reaction mixture could be used as components of the urethane adhesive…

Nominally pure BaF 2 single crystals were investigated at 77 v K with optical absorption and electron paramagnetic resonance to understand the mechanism of radiation damage. We find that X-irradiation at 77 v K of undoped BaF 2 produces V k - and F -centres having absorption bands at 3.4 and 2.3 v eV respectively.

Nickel oxide as a new inhibitor of vanadium-induced hot corrosion of superalloys—comparison to MgO-based inhibitor

Emmanuel Rocca、Lionel Aranda、Michel Molière 等 4 位作者2002-01-01Journal of Materials Chemistry

The combustion of vanadium- and sodium-contaminated fuels in gas turbines provokes an accumulation of ash on metallic surfaces of the hot gas path. This ash material causes fouling and corrosion as a result of the formation of low melting point reactive compounds. This paper presents comparative investigations into th…

The Role of Oxygen on the Stability of Crevice Corrosion

M. K. Sawford、B. G. Ateya、Aboubakr M. Abdullah 等 4 位作者2002-01-01Journal of The Electrochemical Society

Crevice corrosion can initiate in a spontaneously active metal/electrolyte system even with some appreciable oxygen concentration in the crevice electrolyte, as indicated by the measured instantaneous milliampere current and active E x = L potential values at the bottom of the crevice. However, for crevice corrosion t…

Investigations on nature of re-volatilization from atom trap surfaces in flame AAS

Deniz Korkmaz、Suat Kumser、Nusret Ertaş 等 5 位作者2002-01-01Journal of Analytical Atomic Spectrometry

Some experiments were designed and performed in order to elucidate the mechanism of re-volatilization in silica traps using flame AAS. A water-cooled U-shaped silica trap and a slotted silica tube trap were used, while organic solvent aspiration was employed for re-volatilization. Analytes were Bi, Au, Mn, Cd and Pb.…

Electro-Optical Studies on Polymer Dispersed Liquid Crystal Composite Films. II. Composite of PVB/E44 and PMMABA/E44

A. K. Kalkar、V. V. Kunte2002-01-01Molecular Crystals and Liquid Crystals

Aggregation states and electro-optical effects based on light scattering have been investigated for PVB/E44 and PMMABA/E44 composite films. The composite films were prepared by solvent-evaporation technique. Scanning electron microscopy observations showed that E44-phase is continuously embedded in a sponge-like PVB a…

Preparation of Nanometer‐Sized α‐Alumina Powders by Calcining an Emulsion of Boehmite and Oleic Acid

Chih‐Peng Lin、Shaw‐Bing Wen、Ting‐Tai Lee2002-01-01Journal of the American Ceramic Society

This study proposes a method to form ultrafine α‐Al 2 O 3 powders. Oleic acid is mixed with Al(OH) 3 gel. The gel is the precursor of the Al 2 O 3 . After it is mixed and aged, the mixture is calcined in a depleted oxygen atmosphere between 25° and 1100°C. Oleic acid evaporates and decomposes into carbon during the th…
