Motohiro Yuasa、Takumi Nakazawa、Mamoru Mabuchi2012-06-07Journal of Physics Condensed Matter

Sliding behaviors of Σ9(221) grain boundary bicrystals have been investigated in pure metals (Al, Ag, Au, Cu, Pt and Co) and in segregated metals (Cu segregated by Al, Ag, Au, Pt and Co) by molecular dynamics simulations and first-principles calculations. The grain boundary energy, the atomic size and the electronegat…

We report a combined experimental and theoretical photoelectron spectroscopy study of ZnOH(-). We find that the electron binding energy spectrum of ZnOH(-) reveals a broad and featureless peak between 1.4 and 2.4 eV in energy. The vertical detachment energy (VDE) of ZnOH(-) is determined to be 1.78 eV, which is lower…

A Low-Power Fractional-Order Synchronizer for Syncless Time-Sequential Synchronization of 3-D TV Active Shutter Glasses

Daejin Park、Chang Min Kim、Sung-Ho Kwak 等 4 位作者2012-06-07IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems for Video Technology

The 3-D TV active shutter glasses (SGs) technology requires the communication of the sync timing for time-sequential frame synchronization, in contrast to the syncless film-type patterned retarder approach. To advance our previous work based on the fractional-order timer, this paper proposes a fractional-order synchro…

Atomistic Modeling of the Negative Thermal Expansion in δ- Plutonium Based on the Two-State Description

Tongsik Lee、M. I. Baskes、A. C. Lawson 等 5 位作者2012-06-07Materials

The δ phase of plutonium with the fcc structure exhibits an unusual negative thermal expansion (NTE) over its narrow temperature range of stability, 593-736 K. An accurate description of the anomalous high-temperature volume effect of plutonium goes beyond the current capability of electronic-structure calculations. W…

Abstract The cold crystallization behavior of poly (L‐lactide) (PLLA) blend films modified by small amount of acrylic rubber particles (ACR) have been investigated by in situ Fourier‐transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy. During the isothermal cold crystallization, the crystallization rate of PLLA is greatly improved…

Zheng Zhou、Shuling Zhang、Jianxin Mu 等 6 位作者2012-06-07Journal of Macromolecular Science Part A

Two types of antioxidants (a phenolic antioxidant and a phosphorous antioxidant) were used to improve the stability of poly (ether ether ketone) (PEEK). To evaluate the effect of the antioxidants on the properties of PEEK and the stabilization mechanism, some characterization methods were carried out, such as rheomete…

Measuring the interaction between ions, biopolymers and interfaces – one polymer at a time

Sandra Kienle、Tobias Pirzer、Stefanie Krysiak 等 5 位作者2012-06-07Faraday Discussions

Atomic force microscopy (AFM) based single polymer force spectroscopy allows to detect the interaction (energy) between single polymers and interfaces in aqueous environment. We use this method to delineate the effect of ions, pH, co-solutes and temperature on the adhesion of biopolymers onto solid substrates.
