溶融Na2SO4中におけるO2−活量をPt電極を用いた電気化学的分極法により制御し,Dy2O3およびNd2O3の溶解挙動を調査した.Dy2O3およびNd2O3の溶融Na2SO4中への溶解量は,アノード電位域では増加したが,カソード電位域では増加せず,両酸化物とも酸性溶解を起こした.両酸化物を酸性溶解させた後の溶融塩中でのカソード電流密度は,酸化物を溶解させていない溶融塩中でのそれよりも大きかった.したがって,溶出した金属イオンのカソード還元反応が起こっていることがわかった.酸化物の溶解実験をした後の溶融塩を用い,定電位カソード分極を行うことにより,電極表面に金属DyおよびNdを析出させた.
