Wen-Shou Tseng、Chyuan-Yow Tseng、P.D. Chuang 等 5 位作者2008-11-01The Journal of Physical Chemistry C

A novel process of surface modification for multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) by using electron cyclotron resonance plasma is proposed. The process uses a H 2 /O 2 gas mixture as etching gas and applies a bias voltage of −250 DCV to the process stage to extract and accelerate hydrogen and oxygen cations. The gener…

Automatic breakdown voltage measurement of polymer films

Chunchuan Xu、Janet Ho、S.A. Boggs2008-11-01IEEE Electrical Insulation Magazine

Determining the breakdown strength of dielectric films is tedious, as the breakdown strength at 1% breakdown probability is more relevant to system insulation design than the Weibull characteristic breakdown strength, and obtaining reasonable confidence limits at 1% breakdown probability requires very large numbers of…

DFT at Its Best: Metal- versus Ligand-Centered Reduction in Nickel Hydroporphyrins

Hege Ryeng、Emmanuel González、Abhik Ghosh2008-11-01The Journal of Physical Chemistry B

DFT calculations, using the PW91, OLYP, and B3LYP functionals, have provided some of the first estimates of the relative energies of the Ni(I) and Ni(II) ligand anion radical states of hydroporphyrin complexes. Although the three functionals chosen sometimes yield discordant results, the results of this study are esse…

Large electro-optic effect in single-crystal Pb(Zr,Ti)O3 (001) measured by spectroscopic ellipsometry

Tae Dong Kang、Bo Xiao、V. Avrutin 等 10 位作者2008-11-01Journal of Applied Physics

Using spectroscopic ellipsometry electro-optic effect was studied in lead zirconate titanate (PZT) thin films grown epitaxially on Nb-doped SrTiO3(001) substrates by RF magnetron sputtering. A uniaxial multilayer model analysis was applied to extract the linear and quadratic electro-optic coefficients from the shifts…

Investigation of the oxide-assisted growth mechanism for nanowire growth and a model for this mechanism

S. Noor Mohammad2008-11-01Journal of Vacuum Science & Technology B Microelectronics and Nanometer Structures Processing Measurement and Phenomena

Oxide-assisted growth (OAG) mechanism produces high-density nonowires (NWs). Salient features of the existing models for this OAG mechanism and the fundamentals underlying this mechanism have been investigated in some detail. A simple, novel, malleable model for the OAG mechanism has been developed, and the concept of…

MORPHOLOGICAL AND MOLECULAR INVESTIGATIONS OF NAVICULOID DIATOMS. III. HIPPODONTA AND NAVICULA S. S.

Katrin Bruder、Linda Medlin2008-11-01Diatom Research

Molecular data confirm that the Navicula s. s., i.e. Section Lineolatae, is a monophyletic group within the Naviculales. In trees constructed from three molecular markers, Hippodonta was consistently placed as sister group to Navicula s. s. supporting its independence as a genus separate from Navicula. There were thre…
