Chemical Reactivity of Lithium Doped Monolayer and Bilayer Graphene

Pablo A. Denis2011-06-05The Journal of Physical Chemistry C

Herein, we perform a comparative investigation on the reactivity of pristine and lithium doped monolayer and bilayer graphene. To study the addition of free radicals and 1,3 dipolar cycloadditions, we employed periodic DFT calculations. In all cases lithium increases the reactivity, even though the effect is weaker fo…

Sound speed in water-saturated glass beads as a function of frequency and porosity

Theodore F. Argo IV、Matthew D. Guild、Preston S. Wilson 等 6 位作者2011-06-05arXiv

Sound propagation in water-saturated granular sediments is known to depend on the sediment porosity, but few data in the literature address both the frequency and porosity dependency. To begin to address this deficiency, a fluidized bed technique was used to control the porosity of an artificial sediment composed of g…

Atsuya Muranaka、Mitsuhiro Yonehara、Machiko Hirayama 等 6 位作者2011-06-04Chemistry Letters

Abstract A novel tribenzotetraazaporphyrin with a fused azulene ring was synthesized via mixed condensation reaction of 5,6-dicyanoazulene and 3,6-dibutoxyphthalonitrile. The macrocycle exhibited several intense absorption peaks from 600 to 900 nm. The spectroscopic properties were analyzed by DFT calculations.

Tetrathiafulvalene-based Cruciform Molecules

Karsten Jennum、Mogens Brøndsted Nielsen2011-06-04Chemistry Letters

Abstract Molecules with two orthogonally oriented π-systems (cruciforms) have attracted interest by virtue of the different conjugation pathways that exist between the individual parts of the molecule. In particular, the possibility for changing the conjugation pathways by an external stimulus may provide controllable…

Self-assembled Inverse Dendrimer

Qing‐Fu Sun、Sota Sato、Makoto Fujita2011-06-04Chemistry Letters

Abstract Bent bridging ligands appending dendrons (G-1, G-2, and G-3) at their concaves are complexed with Pd(II) ions to self-assemble into M12L24 spherical shells confining inversely branched dendrimers. Their structures were fully characterized by NMR, CSI-TOF-MS, and AFM.

Effect of (Bi,Gd)FeO 3 Layer Thickness on the Microstructure and Electrical Properties of BiFeO 3 Thin Films

Jiagang Wu、John Wang、Dingquan Xiao 等 4 位作者2011-06-04Journal of the American Ceramic Society

BiFeO 3 /(Bi,Gd)FeO 3 (BFO/BGFO) bilayered thin films with different BGFO layer thicknesses were grown on SrRuO 3 /Pt/TiO 2 /SiO 2 /Si (100) substrates using radio frequency sputtering. The grain size of BFO layer changes with the thickness of BGFO layer, and the BGFO layer decreases the leakage current density of BFO…

Effect of Sintering Atmosphere on the Microstructure and Electrical Properties of Donor‐Doped Barium Strontium Calcium Titanate Pyroelectric Ceramics

Chaoliang Mao、Sheng Cao、Chunhua Yao 等 10 位作者2011-06-04Journal of the American Ceramic Society

Effect of sintering atmosphere on the microstructure and electrical properties of the doped BSCT ceramics was investigated. More oxidizing sintering atmosphere weakened the donor‐incorporation effect in the sample and improved the density, grain size, resistivity, and dielectric properties. Especially, when the sinter…
