Chang Woo Kim、Sun Wha Oh、Young Hwan Kim 等 5 位作者2008-01-01The Journal of Physical Chemistry C

The photochromic gel thin films on the glass substrate were prepared by doping photochromic dye, spironaphthooxazine, into the phenyltriethoxysilane (PhiTEOS), vinyltriethoxysilane (VTEOS), methyltriethoxysilane (MTEOS), and tetraethylorthosilicate (TEOS) gels. The λ max of the spironaphthooxazine doped into the gels…

The preparation and structural characterization of a novel, solid Brønsted acid based on Dawson alpha2-monotitanium(IV)-substituted polyoxometalates (POMs) are described. The free-acid form of the POM, i.e., 13H+-heteropolyacid with the formula H13[1b].55H2O DH-1 (1b = [(alpha2-P2W17TiO61)(alpha2-P2W17TiO61H)(mu-O)]13…

Activated Adsorption of Ethylene on Atomic-Oxygen-Covered Ag(100) and Ag(210): Formation of an Oxametallacycle

Anton Kokalj、Paola Gava、Stefano de Gironcoli 等 4 位作者2008-01-01The Journal of Physical Chemistry C

The activated adsorption of ethylene on atomic-oxygen-covered Ag(100) surface and on an open-type step edge thereon was studied using density-functional-theory. On perfect Ag(100), such adsorption results in the formation of an oxametallacycle (OMC), with an activation energy slightly larger than 0.3 eV. We find that…

Effects of Polymer Network Surfaces on Expansion of Cholesteric Blue Phases Temperature

Takeshi Noma、Masayoshi Ojima、Hiroaki Asagi 等 7 位作者2008-01-01e-Journal of Surface Science and Nanotechnology

We proposed the stabilization of cholesteric blue phases (BPs) by confining liquid crystal (LC) molecules within a small area. The temperature range of the BP was expanded in the LC confined in the polymer network (PN). In particular, the temperature range of BP I in the LC/PN composite is six times wider than that of…

Takeshi Kumazawa、Toru Honda、You Zhou 等 6 位作者2008-01-01Journal of the Ceramic Society of Japan

Densification of boron carbide (B4C) was studied by pressureless sintering at temperatures ranging from 2108° to 2226°C with Al gas and Si compound gas derived from SiC. High purity boron carbide compacts attained a bulk density of a nearly full density (2.455 g/cm3) after being sintered at 2226°C.

Evaluation of "Shittori" Characteristic for Fabrics

Yukari Tanaka、Sachiko Sukıgara2008-01-01Journal of Textile Engineering

“Shittori” in Japanese word of the human tactile sensation was not the same as smoothness. We evaluated the “shittori” feeling for fabrics by the sensory evaluation such as Kendall’s rank method, Scheffe’s method of paired comparison (modified method by Nakaya), and analyzed the relationship between the results by sen…

Influence of Fabric Pattern on the Abrasion Resistance Property of Woven Fabrics

K. H. Kubra、Mehmet Topalbekiroğlu2008-01-01Fibres and Textiles in Eastern Europe

Abrasion is the mechanical deterioration of fabric components by rubbing them against another surface. Abrasion ultimately results in the loss of performance characteristics, such as strength, but it also affects the appearance of a fabric [1]. Many parts of apparel, such as collar, cuffs and pockets, are subjected to…
