Magnetic Fingerprints of sub-100 nm Fe Nanodots

Randy K. Dumas、Chang-Peng Li、Igor V. Roshchin 等 5 位作者2007-04-02arXiv

Sub-100 nm nanomagnets not only are technologically important, but also exhibit complex magnetization reversal behaviors as their dimensions are comparable to typical magnetic domain wall widths. Here we capture magnetic "fingerprints" of 1 billion Fe nanodots as they undergo a single domain to vortex state transition…

Bonding of H in O vacancies of ZnO

H. Takenaka、D. J. Singh2007-04-02arXiv

We investigate the bonding of H in O vacancies of ZnO using density functional calculations. We find that H is anionic and does not form multicenter bonds with Zn in this compound.

Quantum-dot-sensitized solar cells: Assembly of CdS-quantum-dots coupling techniques of self-assembled monolayer and chemical bath deposition

Sheng-Chih Lin、Yuh‐Lang Lee、Chi-Hsiu Chang 等 5 位作者2007-04-02Applied Physics Letters

Two methods, coupling self-assembled monolayer and chemical bath deposition (CBD), were utilized to assemble cadmium sulfide (CdS) quantum dots (QDs) onto mesoporous TiO2 films for dye-sensitized solar cell (DSSC) applications. Colloidal CdS QDs were first self-assembled on the TiO2 surface. CBD was then introduced to…

Unique chemical reactivity of a graphene nanoribbon’s zigzag edge

De‐en Jiang、Bobby G. Sumpter、Sheng Dai2007-04-02OpenAlex

The zigzag edge of a graphene nanoribbon possesses a unique electronic state that is near the Fermi level and localized at the edge carbon atoms. The authors investigate the chemical reactivity of these zigzag edge sites by examining their reaction energetics with common radicals from first principles. A "partial radi…

Generalized Neural-Network Representation of High-Dimensional Potential-Energy Surfaces

Jörg Behler、Michele Parrinello2007-04-02OpenAlex

The accurate description of chemical processes often requires the use of computationally demanding methods like density-functional theory (DFT), making long simulations of large systems unfeasible. In this Letter we introduce a new kind of neural-network representation of DFT potential-energy surfaces, which provides…
