Isochoric ideality in jammed random packings of non-spherical granular matter

Andriy V. Kyrylyuk、Marie Anne van de Haar、Laura Rossi 等 5 位作者2011-01-01Soft Matter

Randomly packed particles in granular matter, ubiquitous in nature and industry, usually defy simple predictions for the optimal amorphous packing density because jammed granules are strongly correlated. While mixing different granular shapes seems to be a further complication, we discovered in simulations that binary…

Control of spins by ring deformation in a diiron(iii)bisporphyrin: reversal of ClO4− and CF3SO3− ligand field strength in the magnetochemical series

Susovan Bhowmik、Sudip Kumar Ghosh、Sankar Prasad Rath2011-01-01Chemical Communications

The complete reversal of the ligand field strength of ClO(4)(-) and CF(3)SO(3)(-) in the magnetochemical series is observed in a diiron(III)bisporphyrin. While ClO(4)(-), as the axial ligand, gives a typical high-spin complex, just twisting the conformation of the porphyrin macrocycle gives properties of a pure interm…

Enhancement of dye-sensitized photocurrents by gold nanoparticles: effects of dye–particle spacing

Tokuhisa Kawawaki、Yukina Takahashi、Tetsu Tatsuma2011-01-01Nanoscale

Photocurrents of a ruthenium dye-TiO(2) system are enhanced by gold nanoparticles (100 or 40 nm diameter) embedded in TiO(2). As dye-particle spacing decreases to 10 nm, enhancement factor and intensity of localized electric fields at the TiO(2) surface increase. A further decrease in the spacing suppresses the enhanc…
