High-temperature mass-spectrometric analysis is used to study the sublimation of SrMoO4(s) at 1570–1800 K. SrMoO4(g) molecules are found to be present in the vapor. The vapor pressure of the SrMoO4(g) molecule is determined to be log p = −19980/T + 7.99. The heat of sublimation ΔH s, 0 o (SrMoO4(s)) = 480 ± 40 kJ/mol…

Room-Temperature Carbon Nanotube Single-Electron Transistors Fabricated Using Defect-Induced Plasma Process

Shin Iwasaki、Masatoshi Maeda、Takafumi Kamimura 等 6 位作者2008-04-01Japanese Journal of Applied Physics

We propose and demonstrate the "defect-induced plasma process" for the fabrication of the room-temperature-operated carbon nanotube single-electron transistors (CNT-SETs) with the SiO 2 protection films on the CNT channels. After introducing of defects in the CNT channels by O 2 plasma irradiation through the SiO 2 pr…

Optimized translation of microbubbles driven by acoustic fields

Jean O. Toilliez、Andrew J. Szeri2008-04-01The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America

The problem of a single acoustically driven bubble translating unsteadily in a fluid is considered. The investigation of the translation equation identifies the inverse Reynolds number as a small perturbation parameter. The objective is to obtain a closed-form, leading order solution for the translation of the bubble,…

Size-dependent optical properties and carriers dynamics in CdSe/ZnS quantum dots

Ma Hong、Ma Guo-Hong、Wang Wen-jun 等 5 位作者2008-04-01Chinese Physics B

Size-dependence of optical properties and energy relaxation in CdSe/ZnS quantum dots (QDs) were investigated by two-colour femtosecond (fs) pump-probe (400/800 nm) and picosecond time-resolved photoluminescence (ps TRPL) experiments. Pump-probe measurement results show that there are two components for the excited car…

Anchoring transitions of liquid crystals on SiOx

Cheng Chen、Philip J. Bos、James E. Anderson2008-04-01Liquid Crystals

Anchoring transitions were observed of nematic liquid crystal (LC) mixtures on obliquely evaporated SiO x by varying the relative abundance of two components in the mixture. Of these two components, one has a longitudinal cyano group and another has lateral cyano groups. It was also found that both temperature and SiO…

Synthesis of Ceramic Nanocomposite Powders with in situ Formation of Nanowires/Nanobelts

Weiyou Yang、Fengmei Gao、Huatao Wang 等 6 位作者2008-04-01Journal of the American Ceramic Society

A significant challenge in synthesizing nanowire/nanobelt‐reinforced ceramic nanocomposites is to uniformly disperse these reinforcements. Here, we report the synthesis of amorphous silicon carbonitride powders containing in situ‐ formed single‐crystal Si 3 N 4 nanowires and nanobelts via the catalyst‐assisted pyrolys…
