Morphology and thermal stability of Ti-doped copper nitride films

Xiaoyan Fan、Zhiguo Wu、Huajun Li 等 6 位作者2007-05-18Journal of Physics D Applied Physics

A weakly Ti-doped copper nitride (Cu 3 N) film was prepared by cylindrical magnetron sputtering. The XPS results indicate that Ti atoms do not substitute for the Cu atoms but probably locate at the grain boundaries. The columnar grains size is about half of that of the undoped Cu 3 N film and the surface is smoother.…

Lead-free (K x Na 1− x ) 1− y Li y Nb 0.80 Ta 0.20 O 3 ceramics have been prepared using the conventional solid-state reaction technique in ambience. A systematic study was carried out to examine the existence and influences of two speculated morphotropic phase boundaries (MPBs). The result shows that the widely-accep…

Nanometer-thick Au-films as antireflection coating for infrared light

Bruno Gompf、Jürgen Beister、Tobby Brandt 等 5 位作者2007-05-18Optics Letters

The optical properties of ultrathin Au films on silicon have been studied in the infrared over a wide frequency range from 200 to 10,000 cm(-1). Thick films show a Drude behavior; i.e., with increasing frequency the transmission increases; for films below the percolation threshold at about 5 nm a negative slope for th…

Single-crystalline nanowires of SiC synthesized by carbothermal reduction of electrospun PVP/TEOS composite fibres

Jiayan Li、Yanfei Zhang、Xinghua Zhong 等 6 位作者2007-05-18Nanotechnology

Nanowires of SiC were synthesized by carbothermally reducing PVP/TEOS composite fibres obtained by electrospinning. High-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM) and selected-area electron diffraction (SAED) indicated that the SiC nanowires are single crystalline in nature. Both Fourier-transformed infrared…

A Magnetism-Assisted Chemical Vapor Deposition Method To Produce Branched or Iron-Encapsulated Carbon Nanotubes

Dacheng Wei、Yunqi Liu、Lingchao Cao 等 7 位作者2007-05-18Journal of the American Chemical Society

A magnetism-assisted chemical vapor deposition method was developed to synthesize branched or iron-encapsulated carbon nanotubes. In the process, the external magnetic field can promote the coalescence or division of the catalyst particles, causing the formation of branched or encapsulated nanostructures. This finding…

Interactions of Microcrystals through Free Pyridyl Groups: Microcross and Chain‐Arrayed Supercrystals of a Palladium(II) Complex

In Sung Chun、Jung Ah Kwon、Hye Ji Yoon 等 6 位作者2007-05-18Angewandte Chemie International Edition

Crosses or chains? The two free pyridyl groups of a dimeric, triethanolamine-triisonicotinate-bridged palladium complex allow the formation of a unique microcross morphology or chain array of microcrystals (see picture), depending on the reaction conditions. These morphologies arise from interactions between microcrys…

Transverse acoustic wave in molecular magnets via electromagnetically induced transparency

Xiao-Tao Xie、Weibin Li、Jiahua Li 等 6 位作者2007-05-18Physical Review B

We have studied the propagation properties of transverse acoustic wave in molecular magnets in the presence of a strong ac magnetic field. Due to quantum interference introduced by the strong electromagnetic field, the acoustic wave can propagate without absorption under appropriate conditions, which is a direct resul…

Andreev reflection in bilayer graphene

Thomas Ludwig2007-05-18Physical Review B

We consider the differential conductance of a normal-superconductor junction in clean bilayer graphene in the framework of the Dirac--Bogoliubov--de Gennes equation. A remarkable suppression of the differential conductance at voltages just below the superconducting gap is found. This can be understood in terms of the…

Wenping Yin、H. Liu、Matthew Z. Yates 等 7 位作者2007-05-18Chemistry of Materials

CdSe/ZnS quantum dots (QDs) were incorporated into biocompatible polyisoprene (PI) particles by microencapsulation through emulsification/solvent evaporation, a technique that is facile, robust, and inexpensive. Emulsification/solvent evaporation results in QDs encapsulated into the particle core without requiring che…

Transition of Single-Walled Carbon Nanotubes from Metallic to Semiconducting in Field-Effect Transistors by Hydrogen Plasma Treatment

Gang Zheng、Qunqing Li、Kaili Jiang 等 7 位作者2007-05-18Nano Letters

We report hydrogen plasma treatment results on converting the metallic single-walled carbon nanotubes to semiconducting single-walled carbon nanotubes. We found that the as-grown single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) can be sorted as three groups which behave as metallic, as-metallic, and semiconducting SWNTs. These…
