アセチル化したスギ材にポリスチレン樹脂(PS)を含浸し,さらに放射方向に熱圧した。それらの動的ヤング率(E'),曲げ強度および寸法安定性を測定し,導入されたPS樹脂による細胞壁間接着の効果を検討した。アセチル化およびそれに続くPS含浸が木材のE'に与える影響はわずかであったが,180℃で熱圧することにより,木材が効果的に圧密されるとともに,接線方向のE'が顕著に増大した。そのような効果は室温で圧縮した場合には認められなかった。熱圧による力学性能の向上は,導入されたPS樹脂によって細胞壁同士が接着され,それらのセル変形が効果的に抑制されたことによると推察された。細胞壁間の接着は,圧縮変形の固定にも有効であった。アセチル化木材-PS複…

セメント硬化体の処女乾燥・再吸着時の乾燥収縮率を予測するために、円筒形細孔のみが存在するシリカ系材料MCM-41においてPellenqらが構築したアルゴン吸脱着モデルを、細孔径分布を持つセメント硬化体に適用することで、セメント硬化体の水蒸気吸脱着等温線モデルの構築を目指した。結果として、Pellenqモデルを連結した細孔へ拡張することができるように修正することで、任意の湿度環境下における硬化セメントペースト内部の本質的な水分移動を評価可能であることが明らかとなった。また、収縮低減剤を添加した場合には濡れ性を考慮することで定量的に予測できることを明らかにした。

アニリンと銅(II)塩をドープしたゾル-ゲルシリカ中において,銅(II)を触媒とするアニリンの重合反応により,ポリアニリン-シリカ複合ゲルの作製を行った。生成したゲルは濃緑色に着色し,その吸収スペクトルは~422 nmと~750 nmのピークを示した。これらのピークから,ゾル-ゲルシリカ中においてエメラルディン塩型ポリアニリンが生成することがわかった。ポリアニリンの生成量は,塩化銅(II)が最も高く,硫酸銅(II)と硝酸銅(II)はその半分程度であった。また反応には酸素が不可欠で,銅(II)塩が触媒,酸素分子が酸化剤として作用していることも確認できた。
