S. Kato、Yu Miyazaki、Tadashi Takashima 等 4 位作者2010-07-05OECC 2010 Technical Digest

Carbon nano tubes (CNT) attracts attention in the field of optical communication. However, CNT is too long as it is compared with the wavelength of communication wavelength and causes the scattering. So we could make CNT short and fat, and our devise showed saturable absorption.

Lijuan Zhao、Qi Pang、Shihe Yang 等 5 位作者2010-07-05JOURNAL OF INFRARED AND MILLIMETER WAVES

Time resolved optical properties of CdSe tetrapod nanocrystals where studied. The results show that the decays of photoluminescence (PL) intensities for tetrapods in solution and on insulating silicon substrate can be well fitted by a bi-exponential function. Based on the emission-energy dependence of carrier lifetime…

Comparison of shear-induced conductivity anisotropy in a micellar system in the isotropic and the nematic phase

Panos Photinos2010-07-05Liquid Crystals

Conductivity measurements are presented in two isotropic micellar solutions and in the nematic phase of the sodium salicylate/cetylpyridimium chloride/H2O system under shear. For the isotropic solutions the concentrations studied correspond to the plateau behaviour in the flow curve for this system. The measured aniso…

Interface defect-assisted single electron charging (and discharging) dynamics in Ge nanocrystals memories

J. S. de Sousa、Robby Peibst、G. A. Farias 等 5 位作者2010-07-05Applied Physics Letters

The charging and discharging dynamics of Ge nanocrystal memories is measured and compared with a realistic quantum mechanical model that is able to reproduce qualitatively the overall device behavior. Quantitatively, the charging (discharging) dynamics is faster (slower) than predicted by calculations. To explain the…

Biplab Sanyal、Abhijit Mookerjee2010-07-05International Journal of Modern Physics B

We present a systematic first-principle study of the structures, energetics and electronic structure of (ZnO) n clusters in the size range 1 ≤ n≤ 12. We show that the planar ring structures are stable for n < 8, while spheroidal structures made out of rings of (ZnO) 3 and (ZnO) 2 are stable for n ≥ 8. We examine the b…

On the generation of nanograins in pure copper through uniaxial single compression

B. Zhang、V.P.W. Shim2010-07-05The Philosophical Magazine A Journal of Theoretical Experimental and Applied Physics

Attempts at generating nanograins through uniaxial single compression were made by deforming copper samples at 298 K and 77 K. At 298 K, dynamically-deformed samples (DDS) become softer, in contrast to quasi-statically deformed samples (QDS), which show a hardness close to the saturation value. The microstructure of D…

As an illustration of our general results, we consider a class of poin…

WHY HOLES ARE NOT LIKE ELECTRONS IV: HOLE UNDRESSING AND SPIN CURRENT IN THE SUPERCONDUCTING STATE

J. E. Hirsch2010-07-05International Journal of Modern Physics B

In paper III of this series we proposed a scenario of superconductivity driven by hole "undressing" that involved a complete redistribution of the occupation of single particle energy levels: the holes near the top of the band were proposed to all condense to the bottom of the band. Here we consider a less drastic red…
