Effect of double layer coating on carbon nanotubes for field emission and secondary electron emission measurement

Jungwoo Lee、Jaehong Park、Jeongyoul Kim 等 4 位作者2007-03-01Journal of Vacuum Science & Technology B Microelectronics and Nanometer Structures Processing Measurement and Phenomena

Field emissions of wide-band-gap-material (WBGM)-coated single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) were studied. Field emission current was gradually increased after monolayer coating (MgO-coated SWCNTs) and successive double layer coating (CsI∕MgO-coated SWCNTs). The turn-on field decreased from 3.26 to 2.43 and 1.61μAc…

Subwavelength imaging in a superlens of plasmon nanospheres

Constantin Simovski、Sergei Tretyakov、A.J. Viitanen2007-03-01Technical Physics Letters

A structure comprising two lattices of silver or gold nanospheres is considered. It is shown that this structure can be used as a superlens capable of providing subwavelength imaging of a point source and a sub-wavelength spatial resolution of two sources at a distance within one wavelength.

Pentagonal ZnO nanorods

R. Könenkamp、Robert C. Word、M. Dosmailov 等 4 位作者2007-03-01physica status solidi (RRL) - Rapid Research Letters

Abstract We report the growth of ZnO nanorods with pentagonal cross‐section in electrodeposition on p‐type Si substrates. Cathodic potentials smaller than those used for growth of hexagonal nanorods are used. The pentagonal wires have a typical length of 1–2 µm and grow out of an inhomogeneous nano‐crystalline thin fi…

Divanízia N. Souza、Adeilson P. Melo、Maria Gabriela de Menezes Oliveira 等 4 位作者2007-03-01Physica status solidi. C, Conferences and critical reviews/Physica status solidi. C, Current topics in solid state physics

Abstract In this work, the thermoluminescent properties of pellets containing powdered Wollastonite embedded in Teflon were studied. The preliminary results using gamma rays from a 60 Co source showed linearity at the calibration curve between 0.5 Gy and 10 Gy. The main TL peaks are located at 125, 200 and 245 °C. The…

Contributions of Strain Energy and PV-work on the Bending Behavior of Uncoated Plain-woven Fabric Air Beams

Paul V. Cavallaro、Ali M. Sadegh、Claudia J. Quigley2007-03-01Journal of Engineered Fibers and Fabrics

The bending performance of fabric air beams varies significantly from conventional beams. Both are dependent upon the constitutive relations of the material, but air beams are further dependent upon the thermodynamics of the internal air. As the governing energy balance demonstrates, air beam bending is dependent upon…

Application of ultrafiltration in the pulp and paper industry: metals removal and whitewater reuse

Caroline Remus de Oliveira、Cláudio Silva、Augusto Milanez2007-03-01Water Science & Technology

In the pulp and paper industry, the water use minimization is a constant target. One way to reduce water use is to recycle the effluent in a closed-cycle concept. In paper mills, the main source of liquid effluent is the so-called whitewater, which is the excess water, originated from pulp stock dewatering and other f…
