Two magnetic molecular clusters containing almost coplanar rings of iron (III) ions with spin S=5/2 have been investigated by $^{1}\mathrm{H}$ NMR and relaxation measurements. The first system, which will be referred to as Fe6, is a molecule of general formula [${\mathrm{NaFe}}_{6}$(${\mathrm{OCH}}_{3}$${)}_{12}$(${\m…

Impact sensitivity of nitroglycerin

Marvin L. Jones、Edmund Lee1997-06-01Journal of Energetic Materials

The impact sensitivity of liquid nitroglycerin, 50% initiation level, was observed to be near 1.8 kg∗cm or 3.3 × 103 j/m2. The impact sensitivity of solid nitroglycerin, 50% initiation level, was observed by extrapolation to be near 200 kg∗cm or 4.4 × 105 j/m2. The impact sensitivity of a mixture of solid and liquid N…

119Sn Solid-State NMR of Tin Sulfides. Evidence of Polytypism in SnS2

Tanja Pietraß、Françis Taulelle1997-06-01Magnetic Resonance in Chemistry

The 119Sn magic angle spinning NMR spectra of the three tin sulfides SnS, SnS2 and Sn2S3 are discussed with respect to results from x-ray structure analysis. The distortion from an octahedral environment of tin in SnS and Sn(II) in Sn2S3 is reflected in the large chemical shift anisotropy. The denser coordination sphe…

Preparation of ZnO Films on Sapphire (0001) Substrates by Alternate Supply of Zinc Acetate and H2O

Kenkichiro Kobayashi、Shinji Okudaira1997-06-01Chemistry Letters

Abstract ZnO films have been prepared by alternate supply of zinc acetate and H2O. A rate of film growth is nearly equal to an ideal rate expected for atomic layer epitaxy when both zinc acetate and H2O are sufficiently supplied. The morphology of ZnO films is affected by amount of zinc acetate and H2O per cycles.

Sophia I. Passy、John Patrick Kociolek、Rex L. Lowe1997-06-01Journal of Phycology

ABSTRACT Diatom material from South Africa and Swaziland was examined with light and scanning electron microscopy. Five new taxa are proposed: Gomphonema crocodilei, G. quasicrocodilei, G. venusta, G. latistigmata, and G. cholnokyi. Gomphonema venusta has been previously misidentified as Gomphonema clevei Fricke and G…

An Analysis of Electrochemical Capacitors

David H. Fritts1997-06-01Journal of The Electrochemical Society

In most electrochemical capacitor applications it is necessary to series a set of capacitors (cells) to obtain a single capacitor capable of operating at a desired voltage. Performance modeling of these devices has proven difficult because of their nonideal behavior and the need to series a large number of equivalent…

Self-organization of growing and decaying particles

В. Г. Карпов、David W. Oxtoby1997-06-01Physical review. E, Statistical physics, plasmas, fluids, and related interdisciplinary topics

Because of thermocapillary flow or other mechanisms, particles move in temperature and concentration gradients. In a system undergoing a first-order phase transition via nucleation and growth, such gradients are caused by particles themselves. This leads to a long-range interaction in which particles will attract or r…
