Determination of the parameters of deep levels from the relaxational delay of breakdown of a p-n junction

S. V. Bulyarskiĭ、Yu. N. Serëzhkin、V. K. Ionychev1999-04-01Semiconductors

A technique for determining the deep-center parameters from the relaxational delay of avalanche breakdown of a p-n junction is investigated. The method implemented does not impose any restrictions on the relation between the concentration of the deep centers and that of the dopant impurities and can be used in those c…

Mechanism of Embrittlement Of Al Alloy By Liquid Metal (GA)

W.Y. Chu、X.M. Liu、Jing‐Li Luo 等 4 位作者1999-04-01Canadian Metallurgical Quarterly

The liquid metal-induced embrittlement (LME) of 7075 Al alloy by Ga was investigated by using modified wedge open loaded (WOL) specimens. The results showed that the adsorption of Ga atoms could facilitate local plastic deformation of the base metal and there was an observable concave plastic zone at the notch tip. A…

Copper Corrosion in Industrial Waters. A Multimethod Analysis

C. Monticelli、M. Fonsati、Gábor Mészáros 等 4 位作者1999-04-01Journal of The Electrochemical Society

The spectral analysis of the electrochemical noise produced by copper corrosion during exposures to artificial industrial waters of different pH values was compared to the results obtained by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). The noise impedance spectra are in good agreement with EIS spectra. A particularl…

The Separate Removal of Trace 14 CO 2 and Moist NO x from Off-Gases by Adsorption on H-Type Mordenite

Z.-M. Wang、T. Arai、Mikio Kumagai1999-04-01Adsorption Science & Technology

Three kinds of mordenite were examined for the adsorptive separation and removal of trace amounts of 14 CO 2 and moist NO x contained in the off-gases of reprocessing plants for spent nuclear fuels. It was found that protonation of mordenite eliminated any possible removal of CO 2 by specific adsorption but induced th…

Influence of crystal dimensions on interatomic distances in dispersed carbon

E. A. Belenkov、E. A. Karnaukhov1999-04-01Physics of the Solid State

The relationship between the interatomic distances and crystal dimensions in dispersed carbon is studied by x-ray structure analysis and by performing model calculations. It is established that the interatomic distances in dispersed carbon are determined by the dimensions of the crystals along the crystallographic a a…

Axial Ligand Effects on the Redox Reactions of Manganese Porphyrins

Chi‐Hong Chang、Shu‐Hua Cheng、Ye Su1999-04-01Journal of the Chinese Chemical Society

Abstract A systematic study for the effect of axially coordinated monovalent anions on the electrode reactions of several manganese porphyrins in acetonitrile is presented. Potential shifts of the metal‐centered reduction with changes in counterion were related to the degree of Mn(III)‐counterion interaction. In the e…

Analysis of a Poly(oxymethylene) Polymer by XPS

John M. Lannon、Qingru Meng1999-04-01Surface Science Spectra

We report x-ray photoemission spectra for a poly(oxymethylene) (POM) polymer (also known as acetal). XPS spectra were acquired with a SSI model SSX-100 instrument using monochromated Al Kα x-rays. We present the survey spectrum (binding energy 0–1000 eV) and a narrow spectrum of the C 1s and O 1s photoelectron peaks.

Neurotolerability of Gadobenate Dimeglumine in a Rat Model of Focal Brain Ischemia:

Anna La Noce、V. Frigeni、FEDERICA DEMICHELI 等 5 位作者1999-04-01Investigative Radiology

RATIONALE AND OBJECTIVES: The neurologic pathologies for which contrast-enhanced MRI is indicated are often accompanied by a disruption of the blood-brain barrier (BBB), which allows the contrast agent to come into contact with the nervous tissue. Thus, assessment of the neurologic safety for a new contrast agent is o…

Advances in calculating thermally induced stresses in nonlinear viscoelastic materials

Ernst Schmachtenberg、N. Schoeche1999-04-01Polymer Engineering and Science

Abstract Temperature change can build up tensile stresses into thermoplastic materials, if their thermal expansion is hindered. This paper describes how to calculate those stresses. Because thermoplastic materials are time dependent with respect to temperature and strain, a nonlinear viscoelastic material model is nec…

Sillimanite mullitization: Atem investigation and point defect model

Paul Raterron、Michael A. Carpenter、Jean‐Claude Doukhan1999-04-01Phase Transitions

A polycrystal sample of Fe-bearing prismatic sillimanite was annealed experimentally at T= 1675°C and P = 20 kbar for 12 min. ATEM investigation of the sample reveals that the starting material partly transformed into mullite during the annealing, and that this process was assisted by partial melting. The exsolved par…

María José Polo、Rafaela Ordóñez‐Fernández、Juan Vicente Giráldez Cervera1999-04-01Communications in Soil Science and Plant Analysis

Heavy metal accumulation in soil due to the application of sewage sludge may induce changes in its ionic retention capacity. In this work, sludge application effects on copper (Cu) and zinc (Zn) adsorption by the surface horizon of a calcareous soil in Southern Spain have been studied. Sludge from the urban waste wate…

Absorption and the optical gap of a-C:H films produced from acetylene plasmas

E. A. Konshina1999-04-01Semiconductors

Films of amorphous hydrogenized carbon (a-C:H) are prepared by chemical vapor deposition using a dc glow discharge. The absorption is studied over wavelengths of 400–2400 nm. Two Gaussian-like bands are identified with peaks at ∼600 and ∼800 nm. The ratio of the integrated intensities of these bands (I 600/I 800) is f…
