木粉含有率26.5%から55.8%の木粉とポリプロピレンとの複合材(WPC)を, 実大装置を用いて押出成形により調製し, 耐水性を評価した。水中浸漬試験では, 水分浸透速度は木材素材と比較して非常に遅く, 恒量に達するまでに6ヶ月から20ヶ月を要した。質量および寸法変化は木粉含有率と共に大きくなる傾向が認められ, 木粉含有率30%以下において耐水性能が著しく高くなった。高湿度下では, 試験1年後でも質量の増加が見られた。煮沸試験では, 16時間で水中浸漬試験6ヶ月程度の質量増加が得られた。また, WPC の水中浸漬, 高湿度下, 煮沸の各試験において寸法変化に異方性が見られた。WPC は初期耐水性は高いが, 長期間の湿潤状態におい…
