Mirco Cantoro、Stephan Hofmann、Cecilia Mattevi 等 10 位作者2009-03-15Journal of Applied Physics

The growth of multiwalled carbon nanotubes and carbon nanofibers by catalytic chemical vapor deposition at lower temperatures is found to be aided by a separate catalyst pretreatment step in which the catalyst thin film is restructured into a series of nanoparticles with a more active surface. The restructuring is par…

Magnetocaloric effect in the La0.67Ca0.33Mn0.9Fe0.1O3 perovskite over a broad temperature range

M. D. Mukadam、S. M. Yusuf2009-03-15Journal of Applied Physics

We report the magnetocaloric effect in the La0.67Ca0.33Mn0.9Fe0.1O3 perovskite. A peak in the magnetic entropy change [ΔSM(H)] versus T curve, centered around 113 K, has been observed. −ΔSM(H) increases with an increasing applied magnetic field. The maximum value of −ΔSM(H) for ΔH=3 T field has been found to be 1.18 J…

The morphology and structure of interfaces in PbTiO3–CoFe2O4 films on SrTiO3 substrates of various orientations are studied. It is found that for film with thickness more than 100 nm with columnar two-phase morphology, the average orientations of the interfaces between the phases reside on the {110}, {111}, and {112}…

PTEN and p53 are required for hypoxia induced expression of maspin in glioblastoma cells

Jacob Eitel、Khadijeh Bijangi‐Vishehsaraei、M. Reza Saadatzadeh 等 6 位作者2009-03-15Cell Cycle

In response to genotoxic stress, p53 induces the tumor suppressors maspin and PTEN. Here we demonstrate that in response to limited oxygen conditions PTEN and p53 work in tandem to induce maspin in glioblastoma cells. In response to hypoxia a portion of PTEN migrates to the nucleus and complexes with p53, while cytopl…

H. Oechsner、R. Getto、Michael Kopnarski2009-03-15Journal of Applied Physics

The quantitative determination of chemical solid phases by secondary neutral mass spectrometry (SNMS) based on the quantitative character of this technique is described and demonstrated for several thin film structures. The intermetallic phases in a Ni–Zn coating on Fe are shown to be achieved directly from the concen…

Abstract Samples of lanthanum‐doped nickel hydroxide were prepared by electrodeposition method. The structure and electrochemical properties of the samples were studied by X‐ray diffraction and a home‐made open three‐electrode cell system, respectively. The results show that the deposition process of Ni(OH) 2 and La(O…

We report the room temperature ferromagnetism of Cu doped ZnO nanowire arrays embedded in anodic aluminum oxide template. The nanowires about 100 nm in diameter were fabricated by electrodepositing Zn2+ and Cu2+ into the template and postoxidation annealing in air atmosphere. Magnetization measurements indicated that…

BiFeO 3 (BFO) films were processed on BaTiO3 (BTO) buffered (111) Pt/Ti/SiO2/Si substrate by pulsed laser deposition. Improved ferroelectric properties, as well as induced ferromagnetism, were observed by the insertion of a BTO layer for rather thick BFO films (450 nm) deposited at an oxygen pressure of 40 mTorr. We investigate in detail the migration kinetics of oxygen vacancies (OVs) in Ba-doped Pb(Zr0.52Ti0.48)O3 (PZT) ferroelectrics by complex impedance spectroscopy. The temperature dependent dc-electrical conductivity σdc suggests that Ba doping into PZT can lower significantly the density of OVs, leading to the distinctl…
