Understanding crystal orientation in quasi-one-dimensional polymer systems

Yu Ma、Wenbing Hu、Jamie K. Hobbs 等 4 位作者2008-01-01Soft Matter

We performed molecular simulations of polymer crystallization confined in rigid nanotubes. We found that the neutrally repulsive walls of nanotubes enhance the crystal nucleation. This enhancement gives uniform crystal orientation parallel to the tube axis at high temperatures. However, the nanotube walls that are wet…

Symmetry-dependent solvation of donor-substituted triarylboranes

Uwe Megerle、Florian Selmaier、Christoph Lambert 等 5 位作者2008-01-01Physical Chemistry Chemical Physics

Donor-substituted triarylboranes are investigated by femtosecond absorption spectroscopy to study the influence of molecular symmetry on solvation. In solvents of varying polarity and differently fast solvation response, the solvation dynamics of a highly symmetric triple carbazole-substituted triarylborane (TCB) is c…

A novel tetragonal pyramid-shaped porous ZnO nanostructure and its application in the biosensing of horseradish peroxidase

Zhihui Dai、Ke Liu、Yawen Tang 等 6 位作者2008-01-01Journal of Materials Chemistry

A novel nano-sized tetragonal pyramid-shaped porous ZnO (TPSP-ZnO) structure was, for the first time, prepared with a high morphological yield by a simple polyglycol-assisted wet chemical method. It was found that the polyglycol had a significant influence on the nucleation and pore formation in the ZnO nanostructure.…

Silver nanoparticle engineering via oligovaline organogels

Alexandre Mantion、Anne Géraldine Guex、Annette Foelske 等 7 位作者2008-01-01Soft Matter

l-Valine-based oligopeptides with the chemical structure Z-(l-Val)3-OMe and Z-(l-Val)2-l-Cys(S-Bzl)-OMe form stable organogels in butanol. Both peptides are efficient gelators, but Z-(l-Val)2-l-Cys(S-Bzl)-OMe crystallizes more readily than Z-(l-Val)3-OMe. The two peptides can form mixed fibers, which also gel butanol.…

Xinsheng Peng、Jian Jin、Noriko Kobayashi 等 5 位作者2008-01-01Chemical Communications

Positively-charged crystalline zinc hydroxide nanostrands with a diameter of 2 nm and a length of a few micrometres rapidly grew in dilute aqueous solution of zinc nitrate and aminoethanol. The nanostrands were composed of hexagonal clusters of [Zn(61)(OH)(116)(H(2)O)(n)](6+).

Raman spectra of structures with CdTe-, ZnTe-, and CdSe-based quantum dots and their relation to the fabrication technology

V. S. Vinogradov、G. Karczewski、И. В. Кучеренко 等 5 位作者2008-01-01Physics of the Solid State

Quantum-dot structures based on the CdTe, ZnTe, and CdSe semiconductors are prepared by molecular-beam epitaxy, colloid chemistry methods, and ball milling, and their Raman spectra are studied. Localized longitudinal phonons are observed in all spectra. The dependence of the localized phonon frequency on the thickness…

DIRECTIVE EMISSION OBTAINED BY COORDINATE TRANSFORMATION

Jing Jing Zhang、Yingliang Luo、Sheng Xi 等 7 位作者2008-01-01Electromagnetic waves

We use coordinate transformation theory to realize substrates that can modify the emission of an embedded source. Simulation results show that with proper transformation functions the energy radiated by a source embedded in these space variant media will be concentrated in a narrow beam. The thickness of the slab achi…

Xiaofeng Ren、Juncheng Wei2008-01-01SIAM Journal on Mathematical Analysis

The $\Gamma$-limit of the Ohta–Kawasaki density functional theory of diblock copolymers is a nonlocal free boundary problem.
