Investigation on the origin of green light emission in ZnO bulk materials

Jinghai Yang、Lili Yang、Yongjun Zhang 等 6 位作者2009-01-01International Journal of Materials and Product Technology

ZnO bulk materials were implanted by O and Zn with different concentration and their photoluminescence (PL) properties were investigated in detail. The results clearly show that O and Zn implantation indeed have great influence on the green light emission. By comparing the PL spectra for the samples with different imp…

Electrochemical Measurement of Hydrogen Accumulated in a Steel during Wet and Dry Cyclic Conditions

Atsushi Komatsu、Atsushi Nishikata、Tooru Tsuru2009-01-01Corrosion engineering digest

The short-range structural parameters for NaNO2 and KNO2 pure melts were determined by the time-of-flight neutron diffraction. The precise analyses of structural parameters obtained such as coordination number, interatomic distance, and temperature factor allowed us to conclude that (1) there exist stable NO2− anions…

M. F. El‐Sayed、Galal M. Moatimid、T. M. N. Metwaly2009-01-01Journal of Porous Media

Nonlinear electrohydrodynamic stability of two superposed dielectric bounded fluids streaming through porous media in the presence of a horizontal electric field is investigated in three dimensions. The method of multiple scales is used to obtain a dispersion relation for the linear problem and a Ginzburg-Landau equat…

Electrochemical and Erosion Corrosion Aspect on Main Gas Pipe Line in Sinter Plant: for Raw Petroleum Coke as Trimming Fuel

M. Manna、Mahadev Shome2009-01-01ISIJ International

Different corrosion mechanisms and their extent within a sinter plant gas pipeline were studied. The low temperature-high moisture at the charging side and high temperature-low moisture at the discharging side exist in the main gas pipeline. The waste gas velocity is maximum near charging side and minimum near dischar…

Precipitation of Icosahedral Phase in Zr-Ni-Nb-Cu-Al Metallic Glasses

Xiangjin Zhao、Shujie Pang、Chaoli Ma 等 4 位作者2009-01-01MATERIALS TRANSACTIONS

The crystallization behaviors of Zr-Ni-Nb-Cu-Al metallic glasses are greatly influenced by the substitution of Ni for Zr. For the glassy Zr71−xNixNb3Cu16Al10 (x=7, 9, 11 at%) alloys, the onset temperature of crystallization Tx increases from 717 to 748 K with increasing Ni content from 7 at% to 11 at%. The primary cry…

Akira Saito、Yusuke Miyamura、Yoko Ishikawa 等 6 位作者2009-01-01Journal of the Vacuum Society of Japan

Conspicuous metallic blue of Morpho butterflies is well known and attract interest because it is a brilliant luster of natural beings. The blue is produced by their proteins, which are almost transparent without pigment. The origin of the coloration with high reflectivity (>~60%) is then attributed to an interference…

Radiation and chemical stabilities of CMPO-functionalised calix[4]arenes, promising ligands for extraction of actinides and lanthanides, were studied both in solution and in the solid state. A comparison of the results showed that the degradation of ligands under radiolytic conditions proceeds indirectly via interacti…

Effects of Eutectic Compounds Formed along Grain Boundaries in Thixomolded® Alloy Mg96Zn2Y2 on Creep Deformation

Akihiro Shibata、Mayumi Suzuki、Kouichi Maruyama2009-01-01MATERIALS TRANSACTIONS

During thixomolding® of Mg alloys, fine grains (size of ∼10 μm) and continuous eutectic compounds are formed along grain boundaries. These compounds are partly responsible for the superior creep strength of Mg alloys. In this study, we investigate the effects of eutectic compounds formed along grain boundaries in thix…

The response of the magnesium alloy, AZ61 to shock loading has been investigated in terms of it's Hugoniot (Equation of State) and variation of shear strength with impact stress. Comparison of the Hugoniot with that of the similar magnesium alloy AZ31 shows very little difference, and hence gives us confidence in our…
